The lights were bright. They were hurting her eyes. Or maybe it was just the pain in her heart that was making her feel like this. Why does her life always take the worst turn in just a day? Advitya was lying on the bed, unconscious. He looked pale. He has lost alot of blood it's what the doctors said. He looked lifeless. Like he was hanging by a single thread, which would break any minute now.
IVs were hooked to his arms. Both of them, one side had a simple drip she assumed and the other hand was attached to a blood bag. His heartbeat was low. The machine was beeping at a rhythm. One she did not like. She heard the same rhythm when she lost her father. She cannot lose her husband. He is her everything. When she lost her father, she thought she has nothing left to live for. But there he was, in his oh so famous suits, with a blank face. He made her believe that she is not alone, he is with her. But what now? What is she going to do?

Meera walked towards the stool that sat next to his bed. She sat on it and just looked at him. Even though he has lost so much blood, and he looked very weak, he was the most gorgeous man she has ever laid eyes on. He is perfect and always will be. "Doctors say that you probably won't survive. Well, I think they're idiots. Because they don't know who you are. You always win. No matter who you're fighting, you always win. So please Adi, fight again. I don't want to see you like this. It hurts. So much. Don't make me lose all hope I have in life. Please."

Her head was now resting on the bed next to his hand. She knew he wouldn't wake up. She just wanted him to know how much she needs him. If he can hear her, then he will come back for her. He always did. So he should this time as well.

"You know, I have plans. You're not going to go to work but you're to come with me. We'll go on a vacation too. Paris? Or Italy? I mean somewhere in Italy. Or we can go to Switzerland. It's a romantic place. We can go wherever you want or we won't go anywhere and just stay at home but please just wake wake up." Her cracking voice was proof that her facade of a strong woman is falling. She has had enough.

"I'll wait for you Adi. When you wake up, I'll still be here. And if you don't,which I don't believe in one bit, then I'll see you on the other side, sooner than anyone would expect. I am too tired to fight this world alone." With that she made her way outside.

The surgery started two hours ago. After alot of persuasion from all of them, their dadu, dadi and Pooja, went back home. Anjali refused to leave the hospital without knowing how her son is. The family has never faces a crisis like this before.

Their family would break apart if something happened to their eldest son. He might act distant but the first child of the family is always special. He started a generation and he would leave behind shattered hearts if anything happened to him. This surgery was crucial. For everyone. Advitya Singh Rajvansh was a big name. And the whole business world is waiting with baited breath for him to recover. The market would crash without him. He is responsible for alot of shares.

But between all of this were three faces that held a different expression. One looked blank but still hurt. And the other two looked observing. Just then the police arrived. They have tried to track down the number of the last call that was made to Advitya but it wasn't registered. They have come to a dead end. Now, only Advitya could tell what happened. Before they could leave the family asked to look at the number to see if they knew it.

No one did. It did not match with any number on their contact list either. But Meera knew it. Her eyes widened as she looked at it. She thought she left all that behind but apparently not. Her past is back to haunt her. One that is trying to reach up to her present. Just the number or the person's name would chill her to the bone. But not anymore. She isn't scared. She is angry. She tried not to talk about her past with anyone. Only her father knew. Not her husband or her best friend. But now she isn't going to stay quite. Her husband's life is on the line and she is stronger now. Advitya made her strong. He always gave her strength to fight her own battles. And she is going to fight. She will go to war for the man who is struggling to even breathe now.

I am not going to leave him alone. He will pay. For hurting the one person I would burn the world for. He thinks he knows what obsession is, I will show him what passion is.

Her thoughts were broken when a hand was rested on her shoulder. Just then she realized she has walked away from her family and was now at a large glass window. She turned around to be greeted by two pair of curious black and light brown eyes.

"What are you doing here bhabhi? And what is that look?"

"Seems like you're going to murder someone."

Meera had a little smirk on her face. She felt wicked. People think women are weak. But she is going to show that vile man who she is. She would chop him to pieces if she has to.

"I know who shot Advitya. And you're right, I am probably going to murder someone. No one is going to get away after hurting him."

"Who did that to bhaiya? And how do you know that person?"

That's a very long story.

"An ex. He was very nice and civilized when I met him. I was twenty. He was from a rich family. Not as rich as the Rajvansh's but still rich. We started dating after knowing each other for a few months. It was all great. I had alot of emotional baggage but I still tried to give my best to that relationship. He couldn't see my efforts though. So after five months of dating, he started to verbally abuse me. He used to yell at me, call me names and after a few days I have had enough. When I was ready to leave him, I told him. And i thought he would apologize for his behavior but rather, he hit me. And there started the actual trauma. I wanted to get out of it but I couldn't. He was obsessed with me. He didn't like it when I talked to Ayaan. He was my best friend but I couldn't talk to him because that asshole would beat me. So one day when I was tired of this bullshit, I told my father. He not even once blamed me. He tried to protect me from him. I begged him not to tell anyone else, so he didn't say a word to anyone. My father got me a restraining order. He wasn't allowed near me. We even filed a police report but like I said, he belongs to a rich family. And money speaks in this world. No case was charged on him, and the restraining order did nothing to keep him away. But one day he suddenly left. I was happy. I was tired of covering up my bruises and just wanted to live a normal life. So I was happy when he left. But my happiness did not last long. I lost my father two months after he left. And now after two fucking years, he is back to destroy my life again. I've been with him, I know what he is capable of. But he doesn't know what I am capable of now. I am not the same girl who was scared of him. I will make him pay for what he did to me and Adi. I have to go and deal with him for now. I need to take care of this shit but I need to know that Adi is safe before that." As if on que, a nurse came towards them and informed them that the operation was a success and Advitya is out of danger. He is still unconscious though.

Seeing it as a relief as well as an opportunity, Meera wanted to visit the asshole in the meantime. Two hands grabbed her arms. The same pair of eyes looked at hers with their own little smirks.

"I am not very good at fighting bhabhi, but ek-ad thappad to maar hi dungi."

(I can slap people pretty well)

"Oh but I am good at it. Besides its about Advitya bhaiya. We will go with you bhabhi."

Meera looked at Ruhanika and Swadheenta, respectively and shook her head. She doesn't want them to get hurt but their determined eyes made her sigh.

Looks like the three ladies are going to war.

I genuinely support the people, both men and women, who have overcome their abusers. Whether mental, physical or emotional,  abusing someone is a crime. I do not support such behavior nor will I ever justify it.

What did you think of the chapter?

Advitya is out of danger now. I obviously couldn't kill my favorite.

Some badass women action and confrontation is going to come. Be ready.

See you in the next one.
