I was neither frightened nor afraid. What i felt was beyond such mere nouns.
Terror washed over me, raising the fine hairs at the back of neck.
I saw the silhouette shifting and slowly a very familiar face came into my sight.
How could I forget her!?
It was her.
The mysterious ocean eyed lady from the village. A black robe clung to her body overshadowing the darkness and weird looking stone accesories covered almost all parts of her body.
But, what terrified me was her eyes.
They were the colour of evil.Glinting green orbs in the darkness that sucked the breathe out of my lungs. Her long black hair tugged at her waist. She looked up at me showing herself peeking through the tree's trunk.
I sat there paralysed. My pupils dilated as they came into contact with hers.
She shifted in her place. An evil grin spreading all over her face.
As if clearly stating her evil intentions. Making me believe that she was here for no good.
I couldn't beleive my eyes. Where was i? What am i doing? My legs wanted to run but my mind wouldn't co-operate, i stood up slowly trembling with fear. Breathing heavily. I wanted to scream but nothing came out of my mouth.
But she was still there. She didn't vanish away like a nightmare. Her devious eyes still piercing through my soul.
No. It can't be her. Why would she be here? This evil presence in front of me wasn't her. Couldn't be.
She still stood there slowly tilting her head to the side.
My mouth went dry and i felt all the air sucking out of my lungs. My head was spinning and the last thing i recognised was darkness engulfing me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Get up!
I heard a faint voice calling out to me.
Aarohi! Get up!
Someone patted on my cheeks which were cold and i felt warmth taking over me.
Aarohi!
My eyes flickered and adjusted to the darkness.
I could make out Aakarsh's face lines.
He bent over me with creases on his forehead an expression of concern taking over his almost always emotionless face.
"What the heck! Get up" he yelled softly as i jerked up abruptly feeling my throat dry.
"Stop... yelling!" My voice came out weak and a sudden pain shot up through my head.
"Aarohi!" I heard someone scream and the next thing i saw was Naina and Aaisha engulfing me and bombarding me with questions while Jay and Vihaan stood with concerned faces.
"What happened? How did you fall unconscious? Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Naina and Aaisha kept asking and i just sat there dumbfounded clutching my head like it was about to explode.
"Just let her breathe!" Aakarsh said in his cold voice that had now dropped minus 10 degrees.
"What happened Aakarsh? How did she fell unconscious?" Naina asked while Aaisha gave me some water to drink.
I saw Aakarsh tensing. The colour drained from his body as he heard Naina. His eyes found mine and there was a pause until he spoke
"I... I don't know" he said looking away from me.
He was right there. He should've seen the lady. Was that a dream? Was i hallucinating? But what i felt was not something that i wouldn't call real.
Maybe it was just a nightmare maybe i was hallucinating but what about Aakarsh.
Maybe I'm overthinking but i saw fear in Aakarsh's eyes as he looked away.
These thoughts kept nagging me.
"Anyways! I'm glad you're okay and that's important" Aaisha said engulfing me in a hug.
"I... I think it's just the change of climate and I haven't been drinking plenty amount of water so maybe dehydration." I lied.
"Gosh... Come on get up let's get you some energy drink Aaro" Vihaan spoke pulling me up and putting a hand around my shoulder.
"Yeah! You need energy to fight me babe" Jay chirped.
"Don't call me babe!" I snapped weakly.
"Now that's how Aarohi talks!" He smirked at me.
I gave him a weak smile while Aaisha and Naina were back with tetra packed juice and some cookies.
"Here, have this. And please drink more water i don't want you to keep falling, plus,there won't be any Aakarsh to save you all the time" Naina said.
He did save me. And Maybe he deserves a thankyou.
"Thankyou! Aakarsh" Aaisha gave him her prettiest smile.
Aakarsh was zoned out but he managed to reply"it's okay".
Something's wrong with this guy here.
"Hello, Star trekkers" Mr. Xavier said in his husky morning voice.
And i wouldn't ignore that it was kinda swoon worthy.
"I know it's early in the morning and you all are feeling lazy and i could see that why there are only a few of you present here. But trust me This one's worth a week's night of sleep so come on! Let's set up" Mr. Xavier kept speaking in that angelic voice of his with his messy hair distracting me from the nightmare.
Well that's a nice distraction.
"My god! THIS man has a child? I mean i am jealous because his wife sees him like this every morning. Damn!" Aaisha murmured.
"I know right!!" Naina said with dreamy eyes following Mr. Xavier's every move while he was setting up the telescope.
"Well i agree" i spat out.
Oh shoot
"My my! did you fell head first Aarohi?cause you just agreed with us on Mr. Xavier looking sexy" Aaisha smirked.
"Oh shut up!" I said turning red in the face.
"It's okay girl, nobody can help it" Naina winked.
"Fun fact:- He's married and has a child" i said bluntly smiling.
"Ow! You didn't have to remind that" Naina said rolling her eyes.
Which reminded me of Aakarsh.
My eyes trailed off in search of him. He stood a little far staring at the sky. His hands in the pockets of his hoodie. He seemed lost.
Or maybe he's back to being him and whatever happened in the last half hour was completely a dream a miracle or hallucination? I definitely didn't know and i chose to ignore it to enjoy my stargazing.
