I wake up and blink a few times to help my eyes adjust to the light that's entering the room from the window. I turn around and throw my arm around Diego but he isn't here. I sit on the bed and rub my eyes.

" Diego baby?" no response. The fuck... I pick up my phone and call him.

" Hello?"

" Where are you?" 

" I uhm, I'm--"

" Diego?" 

" Yeah, I'll call you back." He hangs up the phone on me and I scoff, I get up and shower  last night's smell off of me. As the water hits my face the memories of mom on my first day hit me. She doesn't even have a soul.  She won't rest in peace, she just stops being. I should stop thinking about her. I'll miss her so much, I love her but it had to be done. I understand where Diego's coming from. I wonder where he is. I get out and get all dressed up in black once again when I hear a knock on the door. 

" Coming!" 

" Y/n, where've you been why are you avoiding me?" 

I open the door and James bursts in. 

" Because you were going to drug and get my husband to cheat?!" 

" You know huh, wait husband!?!"

" Yeah husband, get the fuck out of my apartment." I try to push him away but my palm starts burning and I pull away looking at the melting skin. 

" What the fuck?" 

" Shit, I'm so sorry it happens when I'm mad."

" What happens? Burning people's skin off?" I place my hand under the water and try to process what's happening.

" How did you do that?" 

" Y/n I have powers as well, it wasn't just the umbrella academy. And John does as well, I came to warn you, he knows you two are married and is pissed. I didn't think that you actually got married-"

" What kind of powers?" I wipe my hand gently

" He can drug people with toxins from his hands. He's mad mad. We need tp get you somewhere safe."

James pulls my arm but I stop him.

" No, we need to find Diego. What if John tracks him down?" 

" Y/n, we don't have time for him. I'm sorry."

" James shut the fuck up. I'm going after him and if you dare follow me you're fucking dead meat. You betrayed my trust. I suggest you leave me the fuck alone."

I shut the apartment door after taking my keys and pushing James out of it and run down the stairs in my car calling Diego again and again but he won't pick up. Where could he fucking be? The gym? The academy? As I'm looking out the window I see someone in all black lying on a porch and a girl standing next to him. The man stands up and takes the coffee off her hands. The man's Diego.

" Oh, you've got to be fucking kidding me." I pull up and walk to the porch and Diego looks at me dumbfounded. 

" Angel.. What are you doing here?"

" I was going to ask you the same thing you know."

" I'm sorry for your loss." Patch tells me. I give her and Diego a death stare. Then turn to him.

" Show me your hand."

" What?"

" Show me your left hand." 

I pull his hand close to me and thank god the wedding band's still there. Patch squints her eyes and notices it as well.  

" You, you got married?" She asks looking at Diego.
