You can decide why you can't walk. If you were born unable to, if you lost the ability due to an injury or illness, etc...

Arthur:

He always stops by when he's travelling and crosses where you live. He will stay for a bit, finally able to rest and eat something as well. He feels very awkward whenever the topic of you being unable to walk is brought up and he's always trying not to say about all the places he visited since he feels bad, but if you push enough he will finally start telling you about the places then assuring you he will take you there one day if you want.

John:

He wasn't subtle about asking how you lost the ability to walk at all, just asked "so why can't you walk?". It honestly made you laugh because nobody had ever been so blunt and casual about it, everyone's always so awkward and careful, always trying to dodge the topic, so this new change was a welcome one. He always tries to pick you up to show how cool and strong he is, but that usually ends with him turning red and groaning as his back begins to burn and you telling him to put you down already. So he began doing more lifting work around the camp to grow stronger so one day he will be able to just swoop you up and carry you around with ease for the whole day.

Dutch:

He never found it too much of an issue, would just come visit you to complain and listen to you. Usually both spend calming moments listening to music while he reads one of his books and you do your calming activity. Though once it got harder and the camp was starting to collapse he had a difficult choice ot make: take you along or leave you. He loves you but you would be so bothersome to take along while they are trying to flee the land. He has to think of the camp, is what he told himself, and so one day, during one of those calm moments, as you both sat close and cuddled; he stopped the music half-way and said he's going. You were confused as he would only go once the whole record is finished, but knew it has been rough for him lately so figured maybe he just wants to check in on stuff sooner. But what was weirder was when he placed a slightly trembling hand on your cheek and gently gave the top of your head a kiss, whispering he loves you, he truly does, but he has to make many difficult decisions now. He didn't say anything else and jjust walked away, ignoring you as you called his name in a confused tone, and an almost desperate one as something didn't feel right.

Hosea:

He didn't see it as much of an issue. He's old now, he can't move like he used to; so he doesn't mind sitting with you somewhere the whole day and just chatting with you or doing something. He will take you with him to go fishing, using his horse to transport you easier. You will sit against a tree, watching the scenery or joining in with the fishing if you feel like it, while he's sitting aside you, just enjoying the peaceful silence while also keeping an eye on his fishing rod for when a fish finally bites. Him always being so kind, helpful, and unjudgemental is such a big mental help for you, and seeing him smile at you even when you need help with stuff always warms up your chest and makes you smile back.

Charles:

He takes you on relaxing walks with his horse so you can easily also see everything. He will put you on his horse with ease, asking if you are comfortable, then jump on behind you. He will hold his arm around your waist to make sure you are steady. He will ask you how it's going with you, if you have things to keep yourself busy with; assuring you to just tell him whatever you need and he will try to get it for you. He gladly helps you do things you can't do without the use of your legs. He's always giving people the stare that makes them cower away.when they keep staring at you or whispering about you. One person tried to begin insulting you but Charles choked them behind you, angrily whispering to them this is not what you asked for either so them showing just a little bit of respect and help would mean a lot to you. He let them go, eyeing them with such disgust that it made the person feel ashamed and look away, muttering stuff before hurrying away. When you called for him he looked to you, as if nothing happened, then calmly said just someone asking for directions so let's go now.

Javier:

He got so excited when he heard about a wheelchair and immediately rushed to you. His words were a jumble of Spanish and English as he was so excited so you had to calm him first then ask what he's trying to say. So, this time a bit calmer, he repeated and told you about this person somewhere that's willing to make you a wheelchair. He didn't mention how expensive it was gonna be as he didn't want you to worry about that. You frowned, saying not really useful as everything is mostly dirt roads. He frowned, saying in a building it could be useful. You were unsure, knowing people will look, so he was honest and said people already stare so you sighed he can go get the wheelchair. So he had two choices: gather the money to buy the wheelchair or steal it. He choose the latter option and simply stole it with the help of Charles, who only helped out as he is always ready to help out people who have a difficult life. And so you got a wheelchair from Javier, who gladly pushes you around.

Kieran:

He's always so unsure and insecure of what to do. He wants to help but then he worries you might get angry that he's helping as if you can't do anything for yourself anymore so he always waits until you ask him for help. When you feel ashamed of this, or if someone insulted you or kept staring, he will tell you not to worry about it and start telling you all these nice, sweet things that can make you feel better and forget about it a bit. He's always trying to find stuff you can do without having to move so you can feel included, have things to do, and not think you can only do things if you can walk. If you wanna help him brush horses he will help you sit on a chair and move a horse in front of you and have them stay there so you can also help out.

Mary-Beth:

Admittedly she was a bit weary and moody about it at first as this wasn't the life she wanted. She wants to have little adventures, do stuff, go on romantic walks, but she can't if you are like that. But slowly she realized how cruel that is to think, even if it's the sad truth, and that it's not as if you asked for it. She never said any of it to you, but she still apologized to you for it, feeling so bad. You were of course confused, but she assured you you two will have a lot of fun and she will take care of you. She thought nothing romantic could be done now, but you proved her wrong by still setting up romantic dinner dates, or just trying to move around for her. Seeing you trying to move is so touching to her. It was one of the first drafts she wrote: about a disabled person and their partner. It was a bittersweet story: showing the struggles of living with a disabled person, but also how true love can make them fight through all those struggles together and keep each other motivated.

Sadie:

She didn't know how to go about it at first, but over time she learned how to. She knew what she should say and what not, and which jokes are too rude to say and which are okay. When people dare make fun of it or give looks she's quick to argue back, angrily asking them what their issue is and if she should make them experience the same issues first-hand. She doesn't try to let this handicap be something serious that will be an obstacle in the relationship, but she's not gonna act as if it doesn't exist either because it does. She's always, though a bit awkwardly, assuring you this isn't an issue for her and she still loves you even with this obstacle.
