Me and my friend/brother James were playing uno even though it was short. Me and James are only 13 right now but were put here when he was 12 and I was 11. We were put in the orphanage because of a fire on James's birthday. He had no one to go to because all of his family was at the birthday party and as for me my aunts and uncles on my dad's side hated me because they believed I wasn't my father's daughter, and my mom's side was different they loved me but had many problems like my aunt (aunts name) she was really nice it's just she has 6 kids already and my grandma was really nice but was a little crazy...
"Hey y/n~" James said smiling holding a card up
"UNO!" I yelled quickly
"What! No!" James said
I gave James his new card before sitting back in my spot. Me and James acted like siblings instead of friends because we have known each other sense we were in 5th grade. Our favorite game to play has always been Uno. However I can never remember anything after the day we met.
"Children dinner!" (Random name) voice called
(R/n) was probably the nicest person on earth. She supported us no matter what and overall acted like a mother to us.
"Last one there is a rotten egg!" I said jumping up and running to the dining room
everyone got seated (random name) got up, this usually happens when someone is getting adopted.
"Children I have great news! Two people are going to get adopted!" (Random name) said in his/their/her normal happy voice.
"Ms/mr/mrs (random name) who's getting adopted" I asked
"Well y/n you are getting adopted by a family called the Bowmans and James is getting adopted by a family called the Kons" (random name) said looking at me and James.
"What!" James yelled jumping up out of his seat
"James, I'm sure it'll be fine" I said looking at the ground
"Y/n, we've been friends sense 5th grade!" James saids
"I know, I'm sorry but I have to go" I say walking to my desensitized room to get changed
