Richie Tozier turned 17 in March. His wrist revealed a streak of the color pink. When you turn 17, your wrist reveals a color, your soulmate has the same color on their wrist. Richie was so excited to get his, he was glad that it wasn't a bad color, or a color he disliked. The first thing he did was show his boyfriend, Connor Bowers. Connor had insisted on going to the doctor to identify the color number. Sometimes colors can be similar, but each color has a specific number. Doctors can identify the color easily with a device that scans it. Richie went to the doctor the next day, his color was identified as 2755550.

It's now April, roughly a month later. Richie sits at a table for lunch with his best friends. Bill, Stanley, Beverly, Mike, Ben, and Eddie. Bill and Stanley are soulmates, their color is a dark yellow. Beverlys color is maroon, but she's yet to meet her soulmate with the matching color. Mike has a blue color, and like Beverly, hasn't found his soulmate yet. Ben and Eddie are the youngest, they haven't turned 17 yet, so they're waiting on theirs.

"Hey Rich, where's Connor?" Beverly asks as Richie sits down at the lunch table.

"Oh, he's in the library, catching up on work." Richie replies.

"Isn't tomorrow his birthday?" Ben asks. "Are you excited?"

"So excited!" Richie smiles big.

"God, y-you and Connor are g-gonna be s-so happy." Bill says with his stutter, he's has it since he was a kid.

"Agreed. When I finally got my color after months of Bill having his, it was a huge relief." Stanley chimes in.

"No one wants your gross love story guys." Richie sticks his tongue out.

"That was hardly a love story. And we all know you and Connor will be so mushy tomorrow." Mike says.

"Yeah, yeah." Richie flips him off and everyone laughs. Well, almost everyone. "You okay Eds?" Richie asks, noticing Eddie hasn't spoken this whole conversation. Eddie looks up, "What? Yeah, I'm fine."

"You sure spaghetti?" Richie asks and pinches Eddies cheek. "Seems like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed."

"Fuck off, Richie." Eddie swats Richies hand away. The table seems to fall more silent. Eddie turns red, embarrassed and stands up.

"Woah, Eds I was just joking-" Richie starts to say, but Eddie is already walking away.

The rest of the group looks at Richie, pretending to be confused. They know why Eddie is so mad, but they can't say. Richie doesn't know, and he can't know. Not now. Most likely, not ever.

Without saying anything, Richie stands up and rushes out of the cafeteria. He looks around the hallway, but Eddie's not there. He looks in the bathrooms, and the spare rooms, but he's nowhere. Richie sighs and gives up, not wanting to make another round of the school. He finds his locker and sits down in front of it. He hides his face with his hands. Fuck.

"You okay?"

Richie knows that voice, and for a split second he feels guilty for being annoyed by its presence. Connor. He stands up and nods.

"No you're not, what is it?" Connor asks, giving Richie a concerned look.

"I um, I can't find Eddie and he's upset." Richie replies.

Connor sighs and closes his eyes, "Try not to think about it."

Before Richie can reply, Connors leading him behind a staircase and kissing him.

That. Richies hates that. Every time Richie mentions Eddie, Connor gets upset, and changes the subject. Then he kisses Richie as passionately as he can. Like some sort of, reminder. Eddie is one of Richies best friends. He just wants Connor to be okay with that, but he's jealous. Richies not stupid, he knows Connor is jealous. Though it doesn't matter, because tomorrow is Connors birthday. His wrist will reveal the same pink color that Richies does. Its number will be identified as 2755550. Then Connor won't be jealous of Eddie anymore. It'll prove to Connor that they're soulmates, not that Connor has verbally expressed any doubt, but the jealousy thing with Eddie makes Richie think he does have doubt. Tomorrow it'll all go away, because they are soulmates.
