"Why are you asking to see my wrist?" Connor asks. After Richie admitted his feelings to Bev, he forced her out of his house and sat with his feelings for awhile, then ran off to Connors house."Can I just see?"
Connor shoves his wrist in front of Richies face. It looks different. Like it's faded, maybe. Connor only shows it for a second. Richie doesn't know how to go about this. He wants to see Connors other wrist- but how does one ask that?
"Can I see your other wrist?" Okay. Just like that.
"What? What's wrong with you Richie?" Connor asks, genuinely hurt. And okay, maybe Richie could be going about this better, but he doesn't know how else to do it.
"I- I don't think we're soulmates."
"Richie! What the fuck is your problem? You're being an asshole."
"I know, I know. Show me your other wrist and- and if nothings there I'll admit to being the biggest douche in the world."
"And if something is there?'
"Then who's the douche for keeping me from finding my real soulmate?"
Connor scoffs, tears forming in his eyes, "Its Eddie. Isn't it?"
"I want it to be. Connor, I don't- we don't click like soulmates do. I genuinely liked you, I enjoyed being with you, but the past couple of months have been strange. And I realized that I don't want it to be you, and how can my soulmate be someone I don't want. I know this all sucks to hear, and it's shitty, but If you're faking being my soulmate, you're hurting yourself just as much as I'm hurting you now."
Connor sighs and slowly undoes his chunky bracelet, tears rolling down his cheeks. He hasn't really looked at his real color since he decided to hide it. Richie sees the bright green and sighs in relief. Maybe it's a dick move, but he's grateful that he doesn't sound insane and he was right about Connor. And he's grateful that this means something else-
"Connor..." Richie steps forward, but Connor steps back. "Thank you for everything, none of this is your fault. I wish you nothing but happiness." Richie says.
"Leave." Connor simply says. And Richie does.
