A stinging, no- pounding, killed my head. My body is aching and my throat is so sore.
This must be the hangover.
"Wakey, wakey, Jaylee, Jaylee..." Jax, I'm guessing, shook me.
"No." I groaned.
"Today's gonna be a bitch." Drew whispered.
"Get. Up." Matthew's voice boomed. Oh, no. He's gonna be so angry with me. I forced my eyes open to see the boys crowded around me.
"What?" I agitated. Suddenly, a bundle of clothes were thrown at me.
"Get changed so you're not in a dress." Matthew demanded.
"Who's clothes are these?" I questioned as I rubbed my temples.
"Mine." Matthew seriously said.
"Uh.... Thanks?"
"Go get changed. Then... We talk."
----------------------------------------
Matthew had given me a pair of grey sweatpants and a plain white t-shirt to wear.
After I change into the clothes, I walked back out into the living room, where the boys are waiting.
"Matthew, you look pissed." I pointed out.
"I am. Now sit down."
"Okay, hear me out," I sighed as I sat down. "You know I've messed up. I know I've messed up. I really do-"
"Drew told me you encountered Dan." Matthew led on, putting emphasis on Dan's name.
"I did." I gulped.
"Well, let me tell you something, Jay. Dan-"
"I know! Drew told me!" I cut him off.
"Sara and Dan are 'together'!" Jax blurted as if he's been waiting ages to say it.
"What?..." I breathed out.
"I didn't know this util about 9 AM when Sara texted me. She also informed me that she knows about Dan sleeping around. She also know about DREW beating Dan up." Matthew explained.
"Matty, you sound stressed." I worried.
"I am." He flat out admitted.
"Uhm. Not to interject, but Sara also mentioned a girl." Drew sadly said.
"Okay, and?"
"Her name is Julia." Drew sighed without looking me in the eye.
"You mean THE JULIA. As in, the girl who hates my guys?!" I clarified. Drew nodded.
"Jay, I don't think you realise how much trouble we're in." Matthew informed.
"How so?"
"Jax, just fuckin' tell her."
"I can't." Jax choked on his own words.
"I can't." Drew said, then got up to come sit next to me.
"Jay, listen. You're a freshman, right? Well, before you got to high school- Dan had a serious girlfriend who was... Significantly older than him. But he loved her. Well, his girlfriends best friend was Sara." Matthew slowly said.
"Wait.." My eyes widened.
"You know... Don't you?" Drew sadly asked.
"Sara..." I realised.
"At the time, Sara and Julia were not exactly friends," Matthew continued. "They just... Did... Cocaine.... Together. And drank. And smoked something I've never even heard of. Dan too. Now, they were able to get all of these substances from Dan's older girlfriend. Well, after his girlfriend... Died. The truth came out."
"Who's the girlfriend?" I feared.
The boys glanced at each other, electing Drew to speak. Drew held my hands in his and looked me in the eyes.
"Dan's girlfriend was Jenna Morrison."
"M-M-My sister?" I cried, unable to believe it. "Jenna.. Was a drug addict? And dealer?!"
"She would buy the substances from this older guy, then, you know. Share..." Matthew sighed.
I began sobbing into Drew's shoulder. I just don't believe that MY sister would get into something so stupid. I thought she was better than that.
"You're lying." I accused.
Drew shook his head, "I wish we were."
I let more sobs and short breathes escape. Why did she do this to herself?
"Who- who did she buy the drugs from?" I asked.
"I'm not sure of the guy's name... But it appears that your mom was pretty close to him.." Matthew quietly said.
"Harold." I coughed.
"Who?" Drew questioned.
"Harold... Harold, Harold, Harold... Harold McGrovery! Jenna and my mom would fight about him all the time! Jenna told me it was one of her teachers..." I realised.
"I think... I think your mom was having an affair." Jax cut to it.
Fuck this.
"Help me." I panicked. "Tell me how she really died!"
"Doll, she did hang herself, but we don't know exactly why. We only found out about all of this a few hours ago. It's a lot to process." Drew added.
"I'm sorry, guys." I whimpered. I just don't understand. I have so many questions that will never be answered.
"I don't know if this is the right place.. Or right time, but do you remember when you told us about your aunt?" Matthew brought up.
I raised an eyebrow in confusion, "yea..."
Matthew let out a deep breath.
"We-W-We think," he stuttered. "You need to take her offer and move to Arizona."
