"My lord what will you do to Zatara and her family?" asked the woman sitting at the head of the table.

"Why should they get punished? She is just a mere human?" snarled the scar face man.

This bitch was begging for me to cuss his ass out. I don't even know who he is, but he sure does have a lot to say. I knew some of the council members didn't like the fact that I was human. But this is a whole new level of not liking someone. I understand they want a native Zykarian to be their queen but boo fucking who. I'm the queen and they were just going to have to deal with it because I'm not giving up my men.

"What do you mean she is just a mere human? She is our mate and Queen of Zyka" Sagor bellowed in anger.

"Forgive me my lord but we should have a Zykarian for a queen, not some inferior human" Scar answered challenging the kings.

"I think it's best for you to shut up talking now before I do something that you will regret" Fagra growled dangerously at him.

"My lord everyone on the council thinks that it is a bad idea for us to have a human mate," he said looking at the others for confirmation.

"No all of us don't, Jiare" disagreed the woman who spoke earlier shooting him a dirty look.

"Houra, don't tell me that you actually like this human?" Jiare sneered giving me a disgusted look, which I returned just the same.

"Yes, I actually like our queen to be way more than that stuck-up Zatara" She answered turning her mouth up at the mention of Zatara.

"So you're telling me I'm the only one who doesn't agree to have a human as a queen?" He asked bewildered, looking at the other council members.

No one answered him. He looked around the room in disbelief. Obviously, they didn't agree with what he said. Which made him get angry because he abruptly got up, making his chair slam into the ground. He slammed his hands on the table and glared at the members before turning his glare towards me.

"It's your fault everything is messed up! If you hadn't shown up Zatara would have been the queen and I would've become the king!" he said angrily.

"What do you mean you would have been the king?" I asked with my head to the side.

He finally exposed the true meaning behind his being upset. No one liked Zatara but he is fighting the devil himself for her to be queen. He really thought that he was going to become king after she ascended the throne. He is out of his rabbit-ass mind if he thought that he was going to give up the kings for him.

"Zatara is my mate. If you haven't shown up I would have had her and the throne. Now she is locked up because of you!" He yelled trying to advance toward me.

"You are so oblivious" I laughed getting up from my seat.

Fagra and Sagor grabbed me, but I gave them a smile to assure them I was fine. I knew if he tried to hurt me the guards and my kings would stop him. I gave him a once over and he looked so pathetic. Here he is trying to fight for someone that doesn't want to be saved.

"What do you mean? It's your fault that she is in prison! She told me she was trying to save you from their father but all you did was blame her. How could you send her to prison when she was helping a weak human like you. You don't deserve her kindness and should've been killed when they took you" He snarled trying to get closer, but the guards held him back.

Hearing him say that came two deadly growls. I looked back at the kings who were already halfway out of their seats. They didn't like that he threaten me but I didn't want him to die because of misguided anger. I looked at them and shook my head. This made them pause giving me a pleading look, but I shook my head again. Seeing I didn't want him hurt or them, they finally sat back down in their seats.

"Aww poor Jiare, she lied to you. She didn't help me with shit!" I snapped standing closer to him.

"What do you mean?" He asked confused making some of the anger leave his face.

"She played you. She didn't want to be with you, and you know it. She helped their father kidnap me because she wanted to become queen," I said.

"She wouldn't hurt anyone, she is too nice. Your lying!" He yelled making spit fly out of his mouth.

I frowned and took a step back because I didn't want anyone of his spit to get on him. He really is blind by love. How couldn't he see that she was using the mate bond to get him to do whatever she wanted him to do? Zatara wasn't capable of loving anyone but herself.

"You can't be that in love with her to see that she was using you. You know and anybody with eyes could see that she was obsessed with my men. She didn't care who she had to step on to get what she wanted even if it was her fated mate," I said, looking at him in pity.

"Why should I believe a mere human. I don't believe you" He sneered in disgust.

I could see the apprehension in his eyes. He knew what I said was true, but he refuse to believe it. Zatara didn't care if she had a fated mate, if he wasn't serving her any purpose why would she need him. I don't even know her that long but from the little time knowing her anyone with eyeballs could see she was a bitch.

"Okay fine, suit yourself" I shrugged going back to my seat between the kings.

"We need to discuss the execution" Sagor growled.

It made a shiver go up my spine from how deadly he sounded. I never want to get on their bad side because the outcome wouldn't be good. I caught a glimpse of his deadly face before I passed out, when they saved me. Even then it scared me, and I was almost unconscious.
