Sam
The stench of old woman perfume hung heavy in the air making me nauseous and dizzy.
God, I just had to tell April about me attending homecoming. That thought played over and over in my head as my Aunt dragged me from store to store looking for the 'perfect' dress. Homecoming was tomorrow and my Aunt had been busy all week; so here we were, shopping at the last possible minute.
The shop we were currently in was located in the local mall in Burlington and it was probably the worst one that we'd been in all day. But at this point I didn't care what I wore as long as I didn't go naked.
"Sam! How about this one?" Chole held up a bright pink fluffy dress that had me immediately shaking my head no.
Yep I dragged Chole with me. I wasn't going through this torture alone if I didn't have to. She had to pick out her dress anyway. Her boyfriend, who attended another school, was coming down for the dance. She had already found a dress a couple stores back. Now we were just waiting on me.
I was slowly trying to make my way to the door so I could just go sit out in car. I was pooped. I'd just wear my darn church clothes, a black skirt and a nice blouse.
I had almost made it out when my Aunt called for me, "Samantha Anne Carson you best not be leaving this store. Get back in here and go to the dressing room and try this on; it's so cute!"
Darn. I had been so close to freedom. Walking back over to my Aunt I grabbed the dress she had in her hand without even looking at it and made my way over to dressing rooms.
As I was walking away from my torturers I heard Chole ask April, "Geez somebody's a grumpy pants. Is she on her period?"
Oh my god. Chole was lucky I loved her.
Stripping down to my boy shorts and cotton bra I slipped on the dress. Looking into the mirror I gasped at the image before me.
The dress was a beautiful royal blue that made my eyes pop. It was long, flowing, and had a silver belt in the center. It was strapless but had enough padding that I wouldn't have to wear a bra with it. I absolutely loved it.
Stepping out of the changing room I heard the girls excited yelps when they saw me in the dress. Chloe threw up her hands and did a little jigg saying, "Finally!"
April sniffed a little and gave me a watery smile, "You look so beautiful honey. I wish your mom could see this."
Great now I was tearing up. I wished I could give my Aunt a hug but I settled with returning her smile and saying, "Love you Ape."
Then I changed back into my jeans and t-shirt. We paid for the dress and started to make are way through the mall to get to the car.
As we walked Chole and I were debating on which show was better, Supernatural or Once upon a time. April was on the phone blabbing about upcoming yard sales.
We were passing the food court when I heard someone shout my name from behind me. Turning around I looked to find Seth clear at the other end of the food court waving his long arms like a lunatic.
He began walking toward where I stood with my mouth open in surprise. He had on his typical black jeans with a black cut off that showed off his muscular arms and tats . The cut off had a naked girls back on it that read Saving Abel in blood red. He had his snake bites in and gages. Also he had a black hoop in his left eyebrow that I hadn't noticed before.
