Alek:
I was going to get her back.
I had that thought on replay since I saw Chloe get taken.
Two days had gone by and we were fucking nowhere. The police wouldn't tell me where they were keeping the boy. The fucking search parties were coming back clueless.
Even being so young the boy had to know something. I knew it in my gut that he could point us in the right direction.
People claim to have spotted the truck before around town but that's about it. They had said the woman and boy had been spotted before at the park playing recently, apparently they had started coming around a little over a month ago. Right around the time of Homecoming.
The air was cold as I made my way up the path that led to David McCannon's house... scratch that... I meant Mansion. His house was fucking huge! Seth's little town house paled in comparison, but then again Seth's house was still big compared to the one bedroom apartments that I was use to growing up in the city.
I was here to ask David if he had any information. I knew he had connections and might have an idea where the boy would be. Now if this was Chicago I would've already found Chloe and put a bullet in the guy the took her. Growing up on the streets there I had plenty of connections.
Knocking on the door I waited impatiently for David to let me in. The door flew open almost as soon as I knocked, revealing a shuffled looking David. Seth was almost the exact replica of his dad. They were both covered in tattoos, and fairly tall. Not as tall as my giant ass but they weren't too far behind me. David had always been like a father to me. Everytime he came to see Seth when he lived in Chicago, David would make sure to include me. I had always been a little envious of Seth for growing up with a father figure in his life, but I had my adopted mom who was an angel. She had always treated Seth like her own as well. She was there for Seth when his mom was wasn't.
"Alek." That's all he said as he stepped aside to let me enter.
"Hey Pop. You know why I'm here." I had texted him earlier to let him know I'd be stopping by.
He led me into the kitchen where we both took seats at the table. "So I found out that the police did question the boy. He's young so a social worker of course was with him during the questioning. The boy is most likely a home birth since they took some of his blood and it's clear that he'd never gotten any of the shots that kids usually get, so he most likely doesn't have a birth certificate. They estimated his age around 3. They have asked him his age, but the kid doesn't talk very much. Which is a sign the the kid was abused in some way. Plus he has scars on his legs and inner arms." David paused for a minute, his jaw ticking. I knew talking about someone hurting a kid was hard. It made me want to find the bastard and kill him that much more.
"David did the boy give any info?" I needed something. I needed to start somewhere. I needed Chloe back.
"Fuck Alek. This is all so fucked up. Yes. My source said they asked him if someone hurt him. He didn't answer, so they asked if it was his dad. He didn't answer. Then they asked if it was his mom. Apparently the boy lost it. He started screaming for his mom. Saying Dad's going to hurt her again. So I'm thinking the blonde woman is a captive. Just like Chloe."
"David that doesn't give me anything on where I should start!" I was getting anxious now. I stood up and started pacing.
"Boy I wasn't finished." David rolled his eyes at me before continuing.
"Anyways after that they got the boy to talk. They started asking questions like where does he live. The boy said in the woods near a giant bear. The police didn't know where that might be, and thought the boy was just doing what kids his age do... fabricate, make up things. But that got me to thinking. What if the bear is a statue? What if he lived near a cemetery?"
