Sam

The creative writing classroom was half full by the time I finally found it. There was three seats in the back of the room, the one on the far left was already taken so I plopped down in the one in the middle. My nerves were all over the place. Plus I was still shook up from my encounter with the tattoo guy in the Hallway.

I was waiting patiently for the teacher to arrive and class to start when I heard "Psst..hey. Hey!" I looked over to the desk next to me to see a girl with short red hair and big green eyes waving her hands at me like a lunatic, apparently trying to get my attention.

Before I could reply the girl started rambling her eyes bright with excitement, "Hi! I'm Chloe Baker, you must be the new student. What's your name? What school are you from? Are you a natural red head like me? Do you like spongebob? We're going to be great friends!" The girl was practically jumping up in down in her seat by the time she finished talking. I had never met someone so full of energy before, she was like a squirrel on coffee.

"Umm...Hi. I'm Sam and I'm actually from this area i've just been home schooled since elementary." I replied trying to remember the other questions she had asked.

Chloe seemed to think for a minute then her eyes lit up like she just remembered something important before asking "Oh hey, do you work in the antique shop on main street?"

"Yes I do my Aunt April actually owns it." I replied smiling a little. It was hard not to like this strange energetic girl.

Chloe looked like she was about to go on another question spiel, but just then the door slammed open. I looked up expecting the teacher since the room was already full now except for the seat next to me.

My eyes connected with the dark eyes that had me mesmerized just a few minutes ago in the hallway. He had put on a black and red checkered button up shirt that covered his arms. His gaze trailed from mine to swoop over the now quiet classroom. Then his eyes were on mine again as he made his way over to the empty desk beside me.

I jumped when Chole leaned over to me to whisper, "Oh. My. God. Seth McCannon is staring at you and you get to sit next to him. You lucky bitch! Good thing we're best friends now or I'd hate you out of envy."

My face immediately turned red and I looked around to make sure nobody heard my new hyper friend. Everyone's eyes seemed to follow tattoo guy, Seth, till he sat down in his seat, making me think that he must either be popular or not liked.

I tried to remain calm and quiet, even though it felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest. I was confused by my body's reaction to this man. Maybe it was because I wasn't use to being around guys my age, or any guys for that matter. Plus he was ridiculously hot. Seriously he beat any celebrity crushes I had by a long shot.

The teacher, Mrs. Shannon, arrived shortly after Seth sat down. She just passed out our books and told us what was to be expected in this class before giving us the rest of the hour as a study hall. Since this was our first day and nobody had any work yet everybody started talking. Mrs. Shannon had her nose buried in a book probably not wanting to be here anymore than her students did.

I had decided the best way to handle my growing fascination with Seth was to ignore him and be my usual quiet self. Then eventually I'd forget about him. That method worked for about twenty minutes till he leaned over and touched my hand.

I still had my gloves on but I felt that familiar panic rising up with in me. I quickly flinched away from his touch cradling my arm to my chest like he burned me. I looked over at him and saw confusion and worry in his gaze.
