i kept running, making twists and turns around the, might i add, MANY trees in my way. "jonathan! nancy!" i yelled, hoping they could hear. i faintly heard jonathan's voice, as if he was right there with me.
"y/n! y/n!"
"jonathan i'm right here!" i spun around, looking for any sign of my friends.
"y/n!"jonathan called out, to which i panicked. i could hear him, but did he even hear me?
"jonathan where are you! jonathan!" at this rate my breathing was heavy from running and panicking.
"jonathan i'm right...i'm right here!" i looked around.
"just follow my voice!" i heard him yell. i quickly started walking towards where i thought he currently was, and called out. "jonathan!"
"y/n we're right here!" nancy chimed in. a quick flash of relief washed over me, knowing both my friends were safe. i jogged some more, hoping to find them, but quickly turned around when i saw the monster. it had long claws, and was standing, ready to attack. i ran the opposite way, hearing it growl behind me.
i thankfully saw a rather big tree, and pressed my back against it. i'm fine. i'm hidden. i thought, while heavily breathing against the tree. i heard footsteps and low growls coming from the other side, and shut my eyes. please, please, please. just leave me alone. my lip quivered as i thought this would be it, this is how i would die. in a dark, cold, place no one even knows about.
"y/n! follow my voice!" my eyes shot open, looking to my left, and seeing the tree i came through. i sighed out of relief knowing this was my way out. i heard the monster snarl in the distance, knowing what i had to do.
not wasting any time, i ran to the tree and dropped down on my knees. i started crawling through it as best as she could, and heard jonathan on the other side. "y/n?"
i reached my hand through to the other side, which felt different. it wasn't freezing like the upside down, and it actually felt clean. i knew she would make it. i felt another hand grab onto mine, helping pull me through. i groaned crawling through the goo that blocked my way out, as i used my other hand to swat it away. i finally reached the other side of the tree, falling forward onto jonathan. i held onto him, sobbing, scared yet happy, i had made it out of there.
"i got you." jonathan panted, while watching the tree in front of him close. he held me tightly, not wanting to ever let go of me. i was terrified, and he broke his promise. he didn't protect me like he was supposed to, and i almost didn't make it out. i could tell he was upset and shook the thoughts from his head, focusing on more important things. getting me home.
i stepped into the warm water, letting it hit my body, then my face. i brought my arms to my chest, rubbing my face, trying to get the scene out of my head. it just stood there, snarling, ready to kill me. the blood dripping off of it's teeth from the meal it just had. if i hadn't got out of there in time i'd—
my warm tears ran down my face as i slid down the bathroom wall, holding myself. i buried my face in my knees, trying to calm my breathing. i thought of other things, like going to school and seeing my friends. anything happier than what just happened. how was i going to deal with this, and am i going to have to do it alone? i rolled my eyes, standing up and grabbing a loofa. i'm overreacting, it's not that serious. i'm alive, i'm fine.
i grabbed the soap bottle and squeezed it onto the loofa. i started scrubbing my stomach, down to my legs, then my chest. i used some of the suds on my hand, and scrubbed my face. I could feel the dried up goo on my cheek, which sent shivers up my spine. i washed my hair after i made sure my body was clean, not enough to my liking, but clean. the water ran over my face for a final time and then i got out.
