𝑲𝑬𝑵𝑫𝑨𝑳𝑳

𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈'𝐦 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐛𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐨 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚𝐡. My efforts to convince myself out of this date failed miserably when Nicole stepped in and told me to take my own advice and see it through.

After cursing Nicole and myself for agreeing to this, I threw on my white converse, grabbed my bag, and headed out to his car.

I saw Jer leaning against his car looking down at his hands, the white button he was wearing completely unbuttoned. I laughed and he drew his attention away from his phone to my eyes and a grin quickly appeared on his face.

"Hi Kenny," he said and pulled me into a hug.

I laughed and wrapped my arms around him, "Hi."

The hug lasted longer than I thought it would, but he eventually pulled away and opened the passenger door with a grin. I got in with a laugh and started to wonder why I was ever planning on not going on this date.

"Kendall," he said as he got in the car to break me out of my thoughts.

"Hm," I asked and my attention went back to his eyes.

"Is there anywhere you wanna go," Jer questioned and I shook my head. "Okay good 'cause I have a day planned," he added and I shook my head with a smile.

As we pulled out of the driveway, he offered me the aux cord and put his hand on my thigh. I smiled at the routineness of it all and shuffled a playlist. Best Day Ever by Mac Miller started playing and I rested my head on my hand on the center console. I wasn't sure where we were going, but I know that the two of us kept stealing glances at each other the whole way.

We pulled into a Starbucks drive thru and he looked down at me, "Usual Ken?"

"Please," I replied, but couldn't help the smile that formed when he ordered exactly what I wanted without asking. "Thanks Jer," I said as he paid and got our drinks, his hand never leaving my thigh.

"Anytime babe," he froze as soon as he said it and I smiled at his apprehension. He laughed a little to cover up his slip up and I laughed from his contagious laugh. Honestly I'm not sure if its contagious to everyone or just me, but I don't mind either way as long as I'm included.

We pulled out of the parking lot and I looked up at him, "Where are we going?"

"Its a surprise," Jer replied.

"You know that-," I started to say but he cut me off.

"That you hate surprises, yes. I know, but this one is worth it," the boy finished my sentence for me and I sighed, a hint of a smile contrasting the sentiment.

"Can we go get samplers at costco later," I asked and he grinned.

"It was already on the list. Do you wanna go there first," Jer looked at me and I felt like I'd been thrown in a time machine. The date would've been set to last year around when we'd started dating, back when he'd put more effort into everything we did together. God I hope it stays this way.

"Mhm, kinda hungry," I said and his hand shifted on my thigh to hold my hand.

I played with the silver rings on his hand and could feel him watching me, but his hand was all I could focus on.

We went to costco and ate our hearts out in free samples before going back to the car and going to the next place. As much as I grilled Jer about where we were going, he wouldn't give it up.
