Alex"Going so soon?"
I continue tying my shoelaces as I take a slight glance to my right.
"Flight to catch, places to be."
"Right, your parents called."
Where's my phone?
"When are you coming back?"
There it is. I turn the screen on to check the time.
10:02 am
My flight's at 11:40, let's just hope I make it in time if I wanna see another day.
"Alex?"
"What? Oh a couple of days," I reply.
"Can I take you out when you come back?"
"What?" I pause and finally look at him. His messy dark brown hair contrasts his olive eyes as he props his head on one of his arms.
"As in a date."
A date?
"What's gotten into you? I thought we agreed on no strings attached."
"Yeah but that was almost a year ago."
Yeah, I don't see the point.
I grab my jacket from the floor and put it on, straightening my hair out with my fingers.
"Alex? Think about it okay?"
He looks at me with a hopeful glint in his eyes which the past me wouldn't have been able to say no to.
I mumble and nod, looking around to see if missed anything.
The past me isn't here anymore.
Well, time to go.
"Bye Alex."
I wave at him and close the door on my way out.
A deep sigh escapes my lips as I realise what that conversation meant.
It's always a mess when feelings get involved.
I scramble down the pristine stairs and exit through the glass door of the building.
My phone buzzes as I make my way to my apartment.
Dawn
