Big Black Letters
Reached into pocket for flashlight
Flashlight threw shadows across the floor
Tiptoed across the room
Spotted a newspaper clipping
Large black letters"Missing"
Mouth dry, heart pounding
Feet hit the dirt underneath hard enough to jar teeth
Leaving the faint taste of blood in mouth
Head down, shoulders hunched"Missing, Sam Bell"
It was a name he had to find out about.....
The Note
I'll never forget
She put a crumpled piece of paper in his hand
She leaned forward and kissed his cheek
