When I woke again, there was a cool breeze against my skin.

At first it was nice, until I realised where the hell I was. And then, panic set in.

I tried to scream, but it just came out mumbled. I soon realised I had been gagged.

My arms were tied above my head and my legs were bound together at the ankles, my toes just touching the floor.

I was wearing my bra and underwear, and that's it.

I began to cry, seeing the sun set over the horizon as the day turned to night.

I tried to scream again, crying once more as I figured I was probably going to die up here.

It was a lonely night, half the city was alive as cars honked, people laughed and the music from downstairs was so loud I could feel it vibrating my feet.

My head was drooping down, my eyes fluttering closed as I tried so hard to succumb to whatever I was feeling, until the door opened.

I looked up, my vision blurry. Two men walked in carrying a brief-case each, with another man behind them. They were all dressed in suits.

"Mr Morello."

Wait, am I hearing things?

Morello? Is Kai here?

My body had perked up at the sound of his name, is he really here? Is he here to save me?

"Scarlett?" His voice sounded like sex, like an orgasm ripping through my body. I cried out of happiness to see him. To hear his voice...

I tried to move toward him, the jangle of chains stopping him in his tracks.

My face fell, why did he stop? Why isn't he here to save me? Take me home.

A look of horror bestowed upon him, turning back to the men behind him before looking at me again. I shook my head as he turned his back to me, walking back over to the men.

The breeze was now cold, making me shiver.

The door opened once again, revealing my father as he walked directly to me, cracking a whip in his palm. "Who said I was working with those people hmm?" He spoke, "I gave you a chance to figure it out, but you never did."

My father glared at me, an evil glint in his eye and a smirk on his lips. "I guess I raised the wrong kind of daughter. You're not athletic, you're not a killer, and you're not smart."

He tapped his chin, "What are you?"

I looked away from him, admitting my defeat. I was ready for whatever he was going to do to me. I'll just bite my lip and pretend it's a dream.

One of two things will happen. I'll either succumb to my injuries and die. Or I'll be cleaning my wounds in the disgusting bathroom of this strip club and go on about my day like nothing happened.

"Kai was never your friend, Scarlett. He was never even your enemy. He wasn't mine either."

I was so confused.

"I've been alliances with the Morello's for years. In fact, Kai's father and I used to run this fucking enterprise together, until money got involved. He died, and now I'm here."

I looked behind him to Kai, who's head was facing the ground.

Coward.

"Kai's been working with me for months now. Ever since the first time you two met. Every meeting, every visit, every random attack... I planned it all. But you." He pointed, "Were too stupid and in love to even notice."
