Esther was still alive. They kept her in the 'torture room' of their manor an took turns in torturing her everyday.
Loki turned her into a vampire so that she wouldn't die easily.
One night while having a diner, Loki spoke up about Freya.
"I need to tell you something our mother has been lying to you about for a thousand years."
Finn froze, knowing what he was talking about, but stayed quiet.
"Do you remeber what you were told about Freya?" Loki asked.
"Well, Mother told us that Freya died of a plague." Niklaus said, putting a piece of steak into his mouth.
Loki snorted as he drank a glass of blood.
"She lied to you. She sold Freya to her sister a long time ago. We were 5 years old. Finn was 4 and Lijah was still in her womb." he explained.
"That woman is not a good woman. I don't know what happened to Freya since the Christmas party of 1914." Loki muttered.
"What did you say?" Kol said.
"Nothing." Loki shook his head.
"We are not stupid, brother, tell us the truth." Rebekah said.
"The Christmas party of 1914? Freya was there as Kol's date."
Kol looked surprised.
"Oh? No wonder I saw a bit of mother in her." he grimaced.
"I have always wanted a sister. Why would she lie about that? And don't get me wrong, I see Caroline as my younger sister. Even through shes older than me in human age." Rebekah questioned.
"Mother was barren when she first got married to our father." Loki sighed. "She had so many miscarriages and finally me and Freya were born thanks to her older sister, Dahlia. But there was a price. Mother had to give us up at our 5th year in order to have more kids." Loki placed his hand under his chin as he played with his food. His eyes were dazed and he looked like he was walking the memory lane.
"Father went off to war, so she had to make up a reason why Freya wasn't there and she choosed to say she was dead." he clicked his tongue
"He was devastated because Freya was his favourite child."
"He took us and fled to America." Finn chimed in.
"You might be wondering how I wasn't taken along with Freya. Well, it is because Freya was naive while I wasn't. She was easy to manipulate while I was stubborn and unbreakable." he explained.
"Well, Im glad you weren't because Finn would have to step in the older brother role." Finn looked horrified at the thought of doing the parenting role to his siblings again.
He did that when they were humans, but since they became vampires and he was daggered, Loki and Elijah had to take over. Loki might be like his younger siblings who love to kill for fun but he knew his limit.
He was not insane like the rest of them.
