Dollar Daughter

Chapter 7.

That night I couldn't sleep properly. All night I kept thinking about my mother.
The picture of her at her house.
Her beautiful Grey eyes. Her brown curls. She was beautiful.

In the morning, Bob came. I told him that I went out of the mansion and that I made a new friend, Jake.

"That's great! I'm happy for you. But does your father know?" He asked.

"Nope. He won't be here for a few days. So, I dared to get out of here." I said.

But I didn't feel like telling him the whole story. I don't know why.

After Bob was done with my studies, he left. A butler came to tell me that Aunt Natalia had called me for breakfast.

I went to the dining hall. Aunt Natalia was sitting in her seat. She gave me a smile as soon as she saw me, "Good morning dear."

"Good morning." I said.
"Take a seat. Let's have breakfast together."

I did as she said. Then after ten minutes, Elliot walked in.

"Your late." Said aunt Natalia with an angry look. Elliot didn't reply. We were late last night and thats why he is late.

He sits on the chair beside me.

"Don't you have school?" I asked.
"Lilith, its summer vacation." He replied.

"Oh, sorry. My bad." I replied.
"I don't blame you for that." He said.

I look at aunt Natalia, she doesn't seem much happy with what Elliot just said.

Well, whatever Elliot just said, it was a calm pinch for aunt Natalia. A calm taunt. For not sending me to school.

But I was happy with it.

After we were done with our breakfast, aunt Natalia said to Elliot, "Elliot you should be more responsible. Your the next CEO of the empire. If your uncle comes to know that your late..."

"I don't care. Why am I being given something I don't want. Something someone else deserves." Said Elliot.

I know very well what he means by that.

"I don't want any of this bullshit!" Elliot shouted.

"Then what do you want?" Asked aunt Natalia.

"Rather that love, than money, than fame, give me truth." Said Elliot.

He must've meant that to his father.

"I think we are done here." Said aunt Natalia.

"I did expect you to." Said Elliot.

"Elliot." I said. He is playing a game on TV in the entertainment room.

"Yes."
"I was hoping if you would take me to my mom's house again today."
"Lilith, you don't need me to go with you. Your strong enough."

For a moment both of us say nothing. But then I said, "Then give me some cash."

I give the guard the bundle of dollars Elliot gave me. Its daytime and I can't wait till night to go there. Then the guard let's me go.

I walk pass the streets. But this time not with my hoodie on. No more hiding, thats what Elliot had said.

I don't get too busy observing people here and there. I just walk past everyone.

After 30 minutes of walking, I reach my mother's house. I stop. Take a deep breathe. And then turn the doorknob.
