Two days later

Mike and Will hadn't hung out since the so-called sleepover. Will helped his mom with chores and stuff and Mike had been in bed, still sick.

9:23 pm

Will had been cleaning the kitchen when the phone rang. "Hello?" he said as he put the phone to his ear.

"Hello, am I talking to William Byers?" a female voice spoke.

"Yes, this is William speaking."

"Good. I'm Juliette Forett and I work at Gretchen's Diner that is located in the Starcourt Mall. I called to let you know that you're hired and you can start tommorrow. I will meet you there at 8:30."

"Yes! Thank you so much! I will see you tommorrow!"

Juliette giggled, "I'm happy you're excited, see you tommorrow." and she hung up.

Will almost started to jump out of excitement. He had a job and it was the one he wanted the most. He had applied to work for many stores and restaurants in Starcourt but Gretchen's Diner was the one he first applied to. It paid really well.

"Mom!" Will shouted unable to contain his excitement. His mom was free that day so they stayed at home and cleaned.

"What is it?" his mom appeared from one of the bedrooms.

"Mom! Mom I got the job at Gretchen's Diner!" Will smiled widely, his teeth showing. He saw his mom's face light up.

"Will that's great! I'm so proud of you but you're growing up too fast!" she ran and hugged him. Both knew he was going to get a bigger paycheck from his new job than his mom and this meant they could buy more stuff and he could save up for the college he wanted to go to.

"Well then, I think you better go to sleep young man, you have work to attend in the morning!" his mom said pointing to his room, "It's all cleaned there now."

"But I'm not done."

"Ah! Don't worry about it sweetie, I can finish up. I'm not that old yet! Now go get some sleep!"

"Thanks mom." he leaned down hugged his mom. That's right, he was much taller than her, even though his mom was petite Will was still proud that he was taller than her.

When he pulled away his mom walked past him and picked up where he had left off in the kitchen. He really had the best mom in the whole wide world.

The alarm clock woke Will up. Why had he set it?

He looked at the time, 7:15 am. Then he remembered he had work in about an hour. Will shot up and quietly ran to the bathroom to take a quick shower.

After he showered he put on some blue jeans shorts and a yellow polo shirt with white stripes on it. It wasn't too casual but not too formal either. It was perfect for a first day.

He brushed his teeth and ran to the kitchen. As he glanced at the clock his eyes widened.

How is it 8:10 already?

Will had to hurry. Quickly, he grabbed some bread and put it in the toaster. He mumbled some 'come on's until the bread popped up. He smeared some butter on it and put the toast in his mouth running outside to grab his bike.

He couldn't be late on his first day. He couldn't.

"Am I late?" Will was panting like crazy. He had run to the brown-haired woman waving at him, Juliette. She smiled.
