I was gazing at your strange face,
Your sunny & welcoming wiles and grace.

I was gazing at your eyes to no end,
Trying to remember if you were ever a friend.

In a hurry because we weren't free,
Mask covering our faces but you knew it was me.

And I intently looked at your smile,
Maybe it was because I haven't seen it for a while.

I went to say your name but it slipped my mind,
The specific things about you I couldn't find.

And then you spoke my name,
Nobody else calling it sounded the same.

I returned your smile with one of my own,
But then you asked if I was now fully grown.

I agreed and nodded to what you inquired,
Then I wondered if you were someone I ever admired.

And again I searched for you in my past,
I tried everything not to let this greeting last.

And you acted as though we were close,
So I smiled saying I missed you the most.
