1 Month Later

A chorus of laughter could be heard across the world as a result of the sheer joy of our table.

Haru, Jun, Taehyung and I had come to one of the college town diners for a quick lunch since Taehyung had a big announcement for us.

After we had reconciled our situation, Taehyung and I immediately became conjoined at the hips. I was his closest friend and I was determined to make the best of the life he had been magically granted. Haru and Jun were quick to integrate him into our tight-knit group. He instantly became a close member of our friend circle and was treasured by those two.

In addition to that, I really wanted to do good on my promise to show him what life had to offer. Any bit of free time we had, I'd take him out on a mini-adventure. Because that's who I was in general, but now I had a great excuse to do more and with a partner. There was something exhilarating about our excursions. After a day of classes, we'd go down for a long drive. On full days off, we'd go out of town for a few hours. It was rewarding to know he was experiencing the life he seemed so keen on having.

"Okay I need to get going soon, so spill the announcement Tae," Jun said.

"Yes, we've been talking about nothing because you're stalling," Haru huffed.

He put his hands up defensively, "Okay okay, fine. Since you're all in such a hurry, I will have you know that I, the newest student at our fine university, has been selected to submit a portfolio for a national competition, repping our school."

We almost instantly dissolved into hoots and hollers, drawing attention from all the other customers.

I threw my arms around him excitedly, while the others wildly cheered.

He had turned the unfortunate situation right on its head and I couldn't have been prouder. Sure everyone was getting close with him, but there was something that drew people closer when there was a secret shared between them. And for us, that was a pretty big secret.

"Okay well first of all, congratulations! That's amazing!" Haru exclaimed.

"And now I'm going to use that energy and manifest me passing my test that I need to get to," Jun joked.

The two of them started to shimmy out of the booth.

"But seriously Tae, that's incredible. You're incredible," Jun grinned, adding a cheeky wink.

"That you are. Now I've got to go get to my date, but I'm so fricken proud of you Tae," Haru said, giving him a quick hug.

"You want a ride?" Jun offered her to which she nodded quickly. The two of them sashayed out of the diner, leaving both Taehyung and I.

My arms were still thrown around him but he didn't seem to mind. One thing we had both learned from hanging out together so often was that he and I were both the most physical people in the world. He had discovered from living in his own dorm that he would much rather hug something to sleep, and I'm the biggest hugger you will ever meet. Slowly, we just started latching onto each other like koala bears.
Of course Haru and Jun had something to say about it, but it really wasn't like that. At least not yet.

"So...I guess that means today's adventure is more of a celebration then?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I guess so," he smiled sheepishly.

I broke into a bright beam, "Even better." I grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the diner and right to my car.

Teaching him to drive was the next item on the bucket list, but for now I was good with driving him everywhere we needed to be. Today's adventure was a little bit out of the way, but it would be totally worth it. It was this beautiful place I had discovered when I was a freshman in college that later became a hotspot for parties and whatnot.
