The next morning, I woke up to a throbbing pain in my arm and a sick feeling.

Groaning, I rolled onto my left side, trying not to move my arm too much.

I looked at the clock, seeing that it was 8 a.m.

I didn't get to sleep until around 2:30 in the morning, so I assumed everybody else was still asleep considering they probably didn't get to bed until after I was already asleep.

After laying there for a few minutes, trying to go back to sleep, I decided to get up.

First, I went to the bathroom and searched the medicine cabinet, hoping to find some kind of pain killers.

Sadly, there were only band-aids and Midol which I doubted would help with anything.

So, I put a clean hoodie on, being careful of my arm, and leggings, brushed my teeth, and washed my face before slowly making my way downstairs.

"Oh, Adeline," Winston said when he saw me, sounding surprised, "What are you doing?"

"I have no idea." I responded with a small smile.

"You should go lay down." He said, seeming worried.

"I'm ok." I assured him.

He looked at me, not seeming convinced.

"If you start to not feel good, you must go lay down." He said, sounding worried.

"I'll be ok." I said with a small nod.

I went to the kitchen, rushing through the dining room, not wanting to spend more time in there than I had to.

When I entered the kitchen, I was surprised to see Hunter, Ace, and dad sitting at the island.

"What are you doing up?" Hunter asked quickly, standing up and coming over to me.

"At the moment I'm just standing here." I joked.

"Come on." He said, gently grabbing my left hand and bringing me back upstairs.

"Hunter, I'm fine." I said as he brought me back to my room.

"You lost a lot of blood last night and you need rest." He said, having me sit on the bed, "You might feel ok, but you don't look good."

"Gee, thanks." I said sarcastically with a smile.

"You know what I mean," He said, rolling his eyes with a small smile, "Stay here; I'll be right back."

I stayed on the bed, sighing quietly.

I hated when people baby me or make me feel like I am incapable of doing things and taking care of myself.

When Hunter came back, he had a pill and a bottle of water.

He gave me the pill, telling me it was very strong pain killers that would help my arm, and the water bottle, making me thank him before quickly taking the medicine.

Once I took the medicine, Hunter gently rolled up my right sleeve and started unwrapping the gauze, being careful not to hurt me.

"It looks good," He said, gently touching the swollen skin around the stitches with his gloved hand, "I don't want you using this arm at all for anything. Dad already called the school and told them you aren't going to be there this week, and you need lots of rest."

"That sounds fun." I said sarcastically as he started wrapping fresh gauze around my arm.

"It won't be bad," He said with a smile, "If you do what you're supposed to, and rest, within the next month, you'll be as good as new."
