Chapter 10: Have A Little Faith

JUNGKOOK POV

We were coming close to the mainland. The boat ride was overnight and we reached grass first thing. Once we got off the boat, we headed to the nearest station. That's when Jimin brought out his communicator.

"Where to now," I asked.

"Well, the three of us are going to be in danger if you're here," Jimin said. "I don't know yet."

"Guys I need to sit down," Hope said.

"Hey easy, you're okay," I said to her.

Jimin began contacting someone. After a few minutes he came back.

"What was that," I asked.

"The safe place for now is home," Jimin said.

With that, we walked a few miles before we reached the nearest car. We broke the windows and I helped jumpstart the car. Jim drove off and we ended up driving for 12 hours, far away. We ended up in a secluded neighborhood. Jimin drove in front of the house and we all left.

"Guys let me get the keys," Jimin said.

Jimin unlocked the door to the house and we all entered.

"Who's there," we heard a women.

"It's me honey," Jimin said.

As footsteps were being made I finally saw who it was. Rosè, who I haven't seen in a while.

"Honey, you're back," Rosè said and kissed Jimin.

Just then another pair of footsteps began running towards us.

"Daddy," I saw a little girl jump into Jimin's hands.

"Hey Kiana, how are you doing," Jimin asked.

"I'm good Daddy, I missed you," she said.

"I missed you too sweetie," Jimin replied.

"Uhh, what is he doing here," Rosè saw me. "And who is she," she pointed Hope.

"I'm sorry, but they had no other place to go. Task force is looking for them," Jimin explained.

"So, let them go to task force," Rosè said.

"I can't, nothing they had no control over," Jimin said.

"In case you haven't noticed that's the guy who tried to kill us with all this Hunter stuff going on," Rosè complained.

She then walked off leaving a comment.

"They better not stay for long," Rosè walked back to the kitchen.

"I guess you guys can stay," Jimin looked at me and Hope.

The two of us went inside and changed up. Rosè just finished dinner and we all sat at the dinner table.

"So Jungkook, I have no idea how you survived in Rio," Rosè asked.

"Me neither," I replied.

"Jungkook was brainwashed, Hunter took him and made him a soldier," Jimin explained.

"Okay even if I do believe that, I still have a criminal in my house and task force is looking for him," Rosè ranted out.

As Jimin and Rosè were complaining at each other, as I took a sip of my water, I had Kiana to the side who was looking at me.

"So you're like a criminal," Kiana asked.

"Technically speaking, yes," I replied.

"Cool," she said. "So what kind of stuff did you do."

"Well, I guess I went and stole a lot of things, killed people, went on a human trafficking tour, caused a blackout in multiple cities, and yeah many more stuff," I explained.

"Woah, that's cool," Kiana replied to me.

"Okay Kiana, maybe that's enough," Rosè said.

After dinner was over, I went upstairs where Jimin helped us set up the guest bedrooms. Hope had already settled down and she was on the bed all alone. I went to her and sat to the side.

"How you feeling," I asked her.

"I'm okay," she leaned her head on my shoulder.

We both looked out the window and stared at the night sky.

"I promise you Hope, we'll get you a safe place to stay," I said.

"I don't know," she said.

"Why," I asked.

"I'm Hunter's daughter. We all saw what public opinion is about you, what about me," Hope said.

"Don't worry everything will be fine," I said.

"I Hope you're right, cause I'm losing faith," Hope said.

As it began to become closer to midnight, I saw as Hope was sleeping peacefully. The first time she's ever had a proper rest. I can't imagine what she's felt like for years. Anyway, I slipped right beside her, sleeping by her side.

JENNIE POV

More recovery back in the base, I was on a medical bed.

"Alright Jennie, stay still," the nurse said.

I was given stuff from pain meds to injections.

"Stop I'm okay," I said to the nurse.

"We'll okay, just let me know if you need anything," then the nurse left the room.

Foxtrot was the only one left in the room.

"I wonder who was the other girl that was with Jungkook," I said.

"Jennie, I have something to say," Foxtrot said.

"What is it," I asked her.

"It's that I'm worried about you," Foxtrot said. "I know you always been pushing yourself ever since you joined the task force. But I feel like this case had you worked up, it's been a while since you've had a serious injury and it's been two this week alone."

"What are you saying," I asked Foxtrot. "I shouldn't do my job."

"No not that, all I'm saying is. Know your limits."
