"Never knew this place had a library," said Xander while admiring the big hall.

"I mean I don't really blame you dude y'know... With your protective mom and your legs not functioning properly it must be pretty hard to visit these places," replied Elliot.

Xander hummed softly, eyes still exploring the shelves, books, and the walls which had painting of some of Michelangelo's famous work. It was a mesmerizing sight.

"Not really a fan of books are you?" Said Elliot as he took a seat.

"Nah, but anything to get me out of that room." He replied whilst struggling to take a seat.

Elliot eyed him up and down before offering to help him, "Need a hand?"

"I'm good."

"Doesn't look so"

"Well I'm sure they've got an eye doctor somewhere," Xander scoffed.

Elliot leaned back supporting his back against the chair arms crossed and  eyes never leaving the struggling boy.

"Weird."

"What?"

"One day you were running around and today you can barely get off your wheelchair."

Xander's green eyes darkened after hearing those "I'd rather have legs that work sometimes than a failing kidney that doesn't work at all," he spat.

"Then again, you and I aren't any different because guess what?" Added Xander, "we're both going to fucking die,"

His troubled gaze came back to Xander's face after hearing those words, they just sat there in loud silence studying each other intently.

Then Elliot broke the silence with a loud laugh, "This kid man, ahh I haven't laughed this hard in ages!"

"What's so funny?"

Elliot stood up and walked towards a random bookshelf scanning the books that were neatly arranged on it.

"This douchebaggery attitude of superiority you've got there explains everything," He laughed pulling out a book and walking back to the table.

"I don't have an attitude of superiority Elliot." Xander insisted.

"Oh but you do," he said in a pitiful tone.

"Unless you want to end up dying alone you gotta humble yourself man, I'm sure they've got a therapist somewhere" he said shifting the book towards Xander before exiting the  library.

Xander's mouth snapped shut and shame filled his eyes after hearing those words.

He read the title out loud before throwing the book across the echoey room.

________

Xander's POV

Who does that jerk think he is? Me? Arrogant? Not my fault he's such a wuss.

I groaned into my pillow, frustrated. His stupid words won't leave my mind, just then the door knocked.

"Go away!" I yelled.

Soon enough they left.

Kidding, of course they didn't leave it was lunch time and they wouldn't leave me alone until they made sure I eat.

An unfamiliar nurse placed the tray in front of me, she looked in her early twenties. Way~ to young to work here.

"Vegetable soup and bread with a side of fruit yogurt and apple slices for you."

"Where's Susan?" I asked.

Susan was my nurse obviously, she's taken care of me since I was 14, this is the first time in 4 years not seeing her bring me food.

"She had to take a month off work because of her leg injury, "

A month... I could be dead by then.

"Oh alright,"

She left me. She left me? That was new usually they wouldn't leave until I finish the tray, It was an odd feeling but actually a bit liberating.

Haha cunts can go dig up their dead mom and suck her.

Oh but wait... He's not here. I thought as I turned my head to my side to see an empty bed.

Psht why do I care, I'm used to this anyways he's probably in the cafeteria with his new non arrogant and humble friends.

I scoffed at the thought, what an asshole.

As I stired the soup I instantly remembered how he'd help me finish my food, it was nice.

Gross Xander shut up.

Ok one bite just one small bite...

End of POV

His lips were quivering with fear, struggling to take a simple small bite. Soon enough, tears gathered in his eyes.

Drip, drop. One drop at a time.

He sniffed and instantly wiped off the tears, not wanting to be seen as what he described as a wuss.

________

"Maybe next time Peter, I need to get back to someone real quick."

"That Xander boy?" Peter asked looking at up at Elliot.

"Psht no. Well... Yeah. That Xander boy,"

Peter smiled at Elliot softly, "You're not as I thought you'd be."

Elliot chuckled, "Oh yeah, like what?"

"I don't know, obnoxious, mean and cocky." Peter said with a shy smile.

"Me? For real?"

"I know, I know"

"Alright I'll catch you later I really need to run."

"Oh okay -"  he said standing there watching Elliot run up to Xander.

________

He fumbled with the doorknob trying to get in.

locked.

"Huh."  He tried again, but it still wouldn't budge. "Xander? Dude?"

"Go away." He spoke  through his sobs.

"Dude are you- crying?"
