a/n: the art above is what I imagine Erik to look like when he comes out of the lair, just without the cape/waistcoat
it had been days since Erik left the lair, and I had been worried. he had done this before, early on in our relationship. ghosting me as this had never happened before. sure, he had his days, but this long?!

"Hello, y/n" I heard a hoarse voice, coming from the corner of the room.
"Erik!" I called out. I pulled him into a hug, feeling his bones sticking out. I pulled away only to see his bony, frail face peering at me. his face had turned a pale greenish color. his eyes had sunken into his skull, black holes replacing them.
"oh my- what happened! how long has it been since you last ate!" I looked at him in pure dismay
"I don't know, a week?" a quiet mumble came from the small lines that were his lips.
"a week! come, you must eat"
I led him to the kitchen. which was empty, as usual. I pulled garlic and tomatoes from the cupboard.
"soup?" I turned to Erik.
"Sure," he stared at me
I boiled the tomatoes and garlic and passed the soup to him. he began eating.
"merci (thank you)"
"what were you doing while you were gone?"
"Oh, nothing."

the color and life had finally returned to Eriks' face, after a while of me feeding him. he had forgotten to eat, but luckily I had pulled him to the kitchen and cooked him a meal. his face was no longer a dark pit, but a happy, glowing face.
