"You're done?" he rose from his seat. I nodded, holding a little bag of headache pills, walking out of the treatment room.
"You said you're not ready to let people know yet?" I cover his face with a hat.
"This was an emergency." he rolled his eyes.
"Thank you. I'll try to repay your deed and the damaged furnitures." we walked out the hospital. There's no transportation for going home as we rode the police's car coming here. We stood there for a few minutes in silence.
"I didn't helped you much, if I went downstair right when I heard the crashing noise, we could've avoid this." he took another look on my head. I'm shorter than him, making it easy to let him look over my head.
"Let's go home. There's a store right there, we can buy an umbrella to shade from the sun." I point across the road. He nodded and we crossed the two way road.
A big grey umbrella, fit for two of us to walk with a little space in between. He held the umbrella up. The space between us got closer each time, till we're at the gate in front of our house.
"That's a long, long walk. You're okay?" he panted. I nodded, wiping the sweats off of my forehead. I had accidentally wiped the bandage off, it almost fell to the ground but Liam caught it.
"How many stitches did he gave you?" he sticked it back on.
I kept quiet, not that I purposely ignored him. But the door was unlocked, did Noah and Mary got home already? I haven't get to ask the maids to clean the living room. Would they questioned why the living room was trashed?
"Sara? What are you doing outside? Oh my god, did you got into an accident?" Mary swung the door open, she was shocked to see a sweaty, pale, injured and bandaged me in front of her.
"Honey, he's -" I turn to let Mary see Liam, but he wasn't behind me. Looking left and right, there wasn't even a foot print of Liam.
"You okay? Are you dizzy?" she asked again, pulling me into the house. Supporting both my arms, we walked to my room and she laid me on the bed.
"I'll call Margaret. Actually today, she picked both of us from school and took us around the shopping centre. Of course, she was holding the wallet which only you have handwoven it. So tell me, what exactly happened? Margaret keep repeating 'something happened'. Noah is talking to her currently.". She took out a first aid kit and changed the dressing.
" I'll tell you next time, can we do the 'tea time' tomorrow? I'm sorry." I hold her hands. She smiled, the cry baby grew up so maturely over three years.
"Why are you apologising? Just rest okay? Noah and I would be ready if you need anything. Get some rest." she stood and threw the dirty bandage into the trash bin.
"Thank you, my sweet little Mary." I waited till she left, before unlocking the windows. I noticed he was there since earlier.
"How are you feeling?" he asked, sitting by the window.
"Quite bad, it feels like even by the slightest shake, it'd trigger the headache. I would like to lay down for a bit, do what you want okay? And if you're hung-" he put his index finger to my mouth. We stared into each other eyes before he pull me slowly back to the bed.
"Just rest." he whispered. I nodded and pull the blanket over my neck. Before closing my eyes completely, I gazed at Liam and whispered; "I'm really glad you're back safely. But I regret letting you saw the one who made me throw my past away."
Afterwards, the only sound I could hear was the wind flowing from the window. I wonder if Liam really home and this was only my imagination, he was so different from before, and perhaps more masculine.
