"Are you nervous?" I asked Mary. She's wearing a beautiful red dress, knee length.
"I'm ready, but I really wish Sara could be here." she said, holding the script in her hand.
"Me too, cupcake. Me too. But you do your best alright? I would be on the first row." I gave her a peck on the cheek, she shoved me away and wiped her cheek. She rolled her eyes. But I smiled, that's her way of showing affection.
Noah is lining with the others, I saluted to him jokingly and he replied with a middle finger. Ouch.
As I made my way to the front row, the dance performance started. The whole hall got dark, only stage lights shining.
Mary stood in the middle, she twirl and jump, multiple times. She's like a swan. I recorded everything from the start till the end, but my eyes glued to the stage.
Throughout the dance, Mary keep signaling to me. She point to the back of the hall. Mary mouthed, "Sara!" multiple times.
I turned and saw, near the door, Sara was standing. Even Noah saw, he wanted to shout but that would disturb the performance.
She saw me.
She ran out.
I followed.Sara's POV
He kept chasing. I had ran all the way from school into a forest. I'm not hiding anything from them anymore, so why does he keep chasing me?"Sara! Don't run away!" he shouted.
"Don't chase me then!" I replied.
"If I stop chasing, would you stop running?" he asked, we're still running around.
"Okay!" I yelled. I'm at my end. I can't run any longer.
"Okay, stop running!" he said. I ran behind a big tree and peek from the side. He really stop, there's barely sweat on him. He was really build differently.
"Don't come any closer." I warned him.
"Why not?" he asked.
"Why must you?"
"Fine. Let's sit and talk." he suggested. I nodded and sat behind the tree. He point his finger, meaning I should sit in front of the tree. I did as he asked.
"You're okay?" he threw his handkerchief right on my skirt.
"Yeah, you?" I wiped away my sweats. But didn't take off my hat.
"I've been better. But Noah and Mary, they missed you a lot. More than they missed me." he chuckled.
"That's not true." I said. He shook his head, smiling still.
"You should go back, it's time for them to go on stage. You can still make it." I looked at my watch.
"Not without you. Will you please come with me? You know Mary and Noah would be very pleased, plus, you promised them." he stood and brushed his pants.
"I can't."
He walked closer. "Of course you can."
"My skirt are dirtied and.." I looked over my shoes.
"And what?" he kneeled and lifted the hat off. He glanced at the part where I was stitched.
"You should go. Right now." I took my hat back. He sighed and put both hand on my waist, for the third time, he carried me easily.
"If you won't come with me, I'll carry you inside." he lifted his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes.
"Fine.. I'll walk." I pushed his hand off and landed on both feets. He held out his elbow so that we could walk closely.
