Chapter 7: Years Later

Laura

Laura was already eleven years old and Becky was 14 years old. Laura was going to visit her father for summer break. Arthur was already five years old. Laura and Arthur are very close. Becky was doing well at school. Becky was good at painting pictures. Rafael is going to pay for Becky to go to college. Monica did not like Rafael supporting Becky. "Why are you supporting that maid?" Monica asks. "Becky has a right to an education!" Rafael replied angrily. "I am sorry I did not mean to upset you," Monica replied. "I am sorry too. I am not helping the whole world I am just helping one girl. This girl does not have any parents or family to help her," Rafael explained.

The next day Laura and Becky were home. Rafael was going to have a party. King Adam, Queen Rachel, Prince Eric, and Mary were coming to the party. Emily, Loki, and their kids were coming too. Laura did not like that Lavina and Loki were coming to her father's party. Queen Catherine wanted her daughter Jesse to marry Prince Eric, but King Adam told Queen Catherine that his son would choose his own wife. King Adam did not want to force his son to marry someone he did not love. Jesse doesn't want to marry Prince Eric.

The next day was the party. Laura was wearing a yellow dress. Laura was happy to see Mary. Mary was talking about her garden. "Does your uncle know about the garden?" Laura asks. "No, he does not go to the secret garden," Mary replied. "I cannot wait until I see your garden. I am sure your cousin would be proud of how you regrow her garden," Laura replied. "I hope so," Mary replied. Laura saw Philip looking at Mary. Laura walked up to Philip. "Do you like Mary?" Laura asks. "Yes, but I am scared she might not like me," Philip replied.

Daniel

Daniel was talking to Lavina when he saw Mary. Daniel was in love. Daniel walked up to Mary. "Hello, my name is Daniel," Daniel introduces himself to Mary. "We know who you are! You are the son of that monster. I want you to leave my family alone understood!" King Adam replied angrily. "Yes, I do Sir," Daniel replied. Daniel did not understand why he was being punished for his father's crimes. "What is the matter?" Emily asks. "King Adam does not like me. I tried to talk to his niece Mary, but he told me to stay away from her!" Daniel replied angrily.

"I think you should stay away from Mary. Please do not create problems. Your father and King Adam are enemies!" Emily pleaded. "OK, I will stay away," Daniel agrees. "Is there a problem?!" Loki asks angrily. "No, we do not have any problems," Emily replied. "Why does Daniel look upset?" Loki asks. "Daniel has a headache and he does not feel well," Emily explained. "Well, guess we need to go home," Loki suggests. Lavina was not very happy about going home. Laura was happy to see Lavina and Loki go home. Philip was glad to see Daniel go. Philip did not like Daniel.

Mary could not stop thinking about Daniel, but she knew that Daniel and she could not be friends. Mary's uncle will never approve of her being friends with Loki's son. "What is the matter, Mary?" Laura asks. "What do you think of Daniel?" Mary asks. "I think Daniel is a nice person and a good friend. Do you like Daniel?" Laura asks. "Yes, but my uncle does not want me to be friends with him," Mary replied. "I wish I could help, but I cannot get involved," Laura explained. "It is ok I understand," Mary replied.
