Chapter 12: Anastasia and Edward

The next day, Laura and Becky were walking home from work when they saw a girl. The girl was begging for money. Laura walks up to the girl. "Hello, my name is Laura Crawford and this is Becky," Laura introduces herself and Becky to the girl. "My name is Anastasia," Anastasia introduces herself. "Have you had anything to eat?" Laura asks. "No, Laura. I have not eaten in three days," Anastasia replied. "We have plenty of food. You are welcome to come to eat at our house," Laura invited Anastasia. "Can my brother Edward and my friend Alex come?" Anastasia asks.

Yes, sure they can," Laura agrees. Later, Laura and Becky met Edward and Alex. Alex immediately fell in love with Laura. Edward likes Becky. Alex could not believe how beautiful Laura was. Everyone got something to eat. Edward and Alex were working in a factory that made car parts. Anastasia did not work. She would make the meals. Laura and Becky let Anastasia, Edward, and Alex stay in the house with them. Laura also agrees to teach Alex how to read and write. Becky knew how to sew. Becky made pillows and blankets to sell.

Daniel

Daniel was upset. Daniel could not believe that he was being punished for his father's crimes. Daniel was at school. Sebastian walks up to him. "What is the matter?" Sebastian asks. "Mary does not want to talk to me due to Loki being my father," Daniel replied sadly. "I do not know Mary, but a friend of mine Laura Crawford told me that Loki and her stepmother tried to kill her, her friend, and her brother," Sebastian explained. "Laura is still alive!" Daniel replied loudly. "Laura, her friend, and her brother have been hiding. Laura has been working for my uncle," Sebastian replied.

Daniel went to the bookstore. "Laura," Daniel yells. "How did you know I was alive?" Laura asks. "Sebastian told me that my father was trying to kill you," Daniel replied. "It is true. Also, my stepmother and your father are lovers," Laura replied. "I know. Margaret is my half-sister. I am sorry I did not tell you," Daniel replied. "I am not angry with you," Laura replied. "I just wish Mary would not be angry with me," Daniel replied. "Give her time. I am sure once she gets to know you she will not be angry with you," Laura assures Daniel.

Daniel was not going to tell his mother about his father trying to kill Laura. Daniel's mother has enough problems already. Daniel went back to school. Daniel's father was not happy about Daniel and Lavina going to boarding school. Loki wanted to teach Daniel and Lavina, but Emily wanted them to go to boarding school. Daniel wanted to be a doctor. Daniel was going to join the army to help pay for his college. Daniel was not going to tell his father about him joining the army. Daniel's mother knew about his plans.

Daniel knew that Sebastian was his brother. Emily kept her third pregnancy a secret from Loki. Emily went into hiding and she gave birth to twins Emma and Sebastian. Emma and Sebastian were separated at birth. Daniel never met Emma. Daniel knew that Sebastian liked Laura because he would not stop talking about her. Sebastian's adoptive father took his wife's death hard. Sebastian's father spends more time working than he does with his kids.
