Chapter 3

Chapter 3: A New Home

Queen Rachel was helping the maid clean the house. King Adam was in his office. Queen Rachel still can't believe their daughter Amber is dead. King Adam was taking Amber's death really hard. King Adam didn't eat much, and Prince Eric was making trouble. Queen Rachel did not know what to do. Queen Rachel's father told her just to be patient with her husband and son. Queen Rachel's dad called. "Hello, Dad," Queen Rachel replied sadly. "How are you doing?" Martin asks. "I do not know dad. Did you talk to Julie?" Queen Rachel asks. "Yes, but I do not know if she is coming to Amber's funeral," Martin replied.

After Queen Rachel finished talking to her dad she got another phone call. "This is Carrie Hills. I am a nurse in a hospital in India. Your sister Julie and her husband Nicholas Hatching were killed in a car accident. Your niece Mary was injured and she is in the hospital. Your sister made you Mary's legal guardian. Can you come to get your niece?" Carrie asks. "Yes, I will come to get my niece in two days. My daughter was killed and her funeral is tomorrow," Queen Rachel replied. "I am sorry your highness. I am coming to France and I can bring Mary with me," Carrie offered.

The next day Queen Rachel, King Adam, and their son went to Amber's funeral. Everyone in the kingdom was there. Queen Rachel was devastated because she lost her daughter, sister, and brother-in-law. Queen Rachel felt bad for her niece Mary. Queen Rachel never met Mary because Julie and Nicholas moved to India after Mary was born. Mary and Prince Eric have the same birthday. Queen Rachel told King Adam about Mary coming to live with them. Queen Rachel thought he would be upset, but he was happy. King Adam got the maid to fix Mary's room up.

The next day Carrie brought Mary to Queen Rachel and King Adam's castle. "Mary, this is your Aunt Rachel and your Uncle Adam," Carrie introduces Mary to Queen Rachel and King Adam. Mary only looks at her aunt and uncle. "I am glad to meet you. I am so sorry about your mom and dad," Queen Rachel offers her sympathies. Mary did not say anything. A maid named Meg came in. "Meg, will you show Mary to her room?" King Adam orders. "Yes, your highness. Miss Mary will you follow me," Meg requested. "Mary is taking her parents' death hard. She has not spoken since the hospital," Carrie explained.

Rafael was still in England. A friend of Rafael's invites him to go to a party. Rafael went to the party. There were a lot of people at the party. Rafael saw a beautiful woman looking at him. Rafael walks up to the woman. "Hello, my name is Rafael Crawford. What is your name?" Rafael asks. "My name is Monica Lakewood," Monica introduces herself. "Would you like to dance?" Rafael asks. "Yes, I love to," Monica replied. They started dancing. "I was wondering if you are not busy if you would like to have dinner with me?" Rafael asks. "I am not busy and I would like to have dinner with you," Monica replied.

Rafael and Monica have been dating for a year. Rafael has already asked Monica to marry him. Monica was in bed with Loki. "I am marrying Rafael," Monica replied. "After you marry him we will kill him," Loki replied. "I do not want to kill my husband. I am not a murderer!" Monica replied angrily. "You do not have to kill him. I will kill him," Loki replied. "I do not want to kill my husband!" Monica repeated it angrily, and Monica hurried away. Loki is jealous of Raphael. Monica could not wait to marry Rafael.

Laura got a letter from her father. Laura could not believe her father was getting married. Rafael was coming back to England to visit Laura and she would be able to meet her new stepmother. Laura is happy for her father and she was hoping for another brother or sister. Laura was doing well at school. Laura still did not have any friends. Laura got a new phone. Laura calls her dad every day. Laura was nervous about meeting her new stepmother. Laura was worried that her stepmother was not going to like her. Laura went shopping for a new dress.

The next day Laura got ready to go out to eat with her father and new stepmother. "Hello Laura, this is Monica Lakewood. Monica this is my daughter Laura," Rafael introduces Laura and Monica to each other. "Your father told me that you love to read," Monica inquires. "I love to read. My favorite story is Alice Through the Looking Glass," Laura replied. "I hope we can be friends," Monica pleaded. "I would like to be friends too," Laura replied happily. Rafael was happy that Laura and Monica were getting along. Laura was happy that her father met someone.
