"How can we not talk about [friends], when [friends] are all that we got? Everything I would do you were standing there by my side."

The border between the Sand and Rain Kingdoms:

Kinkajou had never been so excited in her life. She was going to see the rest of her winglet, finally!

I mean, she saw Moon periodically in the rainforest and Turtle once, but this time she was going to see Winter and Qibli!

She was also worried. Every time they all saw each other, something bad happened.

First Darkstalker, then the Breath of Evil. She calmed down and reminded herself, We took care of all that, there is no more evil. Well...except for what Qibli told of his grandfather. He had claimed that was very unlikely to happen, but you could never be too sure.

She pushed the thoughts from her mind, now focusing on happier things and forcing her muddy scales back to a happy bright yellow.

This was a good thing! What was the worst that could happen?

She scanned the sands below, looking for Moon's signature black scales and Winter's icy blue ones.

She soon saw a flash of white scales and wings.

That didn't take long..she thought, swooping down to barrel into Winter's wings with a grin.

"I MISSED YOU SO MUCHH!" She exclaimed, burrowing further into the Icewing's chest and taking in his frosty composure.Winter tried to pushed her away but she stayed hugging him.

"ACK- TALONS AND TAILS, KINKAJOU!" Moon shouted in surprise, jumping back and flapping her wings rapidly. "You startled me!"

"Oh..sorry about that," she giggled, pulling back from her hug with Winter and giving Moon a goofy smile. "Where's Qibli?"

Moon looked toward the horizon, unsure. "He should have been here by now."

Her pondering was interrupted by a large scaly dragon crashing into the sand beside them. "HEY GUYS! Mangroves and mongooses, that wasn't fun."

This time it was Kinkajou's turn to be startled by the sudden entrance. She jumped and squeaked loudly, before recognizing the dragon's signature earring and scar on his snout close to his eye.

"Qibli! Moons above, you scared me! But it's so awesome to see you!" Kinkajou cheered happily.

"Heh..sorry about that, Kinkajou. But I missed you too!" He replied, brushing his wing against hers.

The group continued to chat, before small wing beats came from the blue skies above them. Winter was the first to hear it, and glanced up toward the emerald green Seawing approaching them

"Hey, guys. Turtle." He said, and Kinkajou whirled around. "Where?!"

She spotted him, and launched herself in the air to collide midair. Their wings wrapped around each other, and Turtle smiled at her.

"Wow, you're really excited to see me. It's nice.." he said softly, and her scales blossomed with a pink that put Jambu's scales to shame.

"Of course I am! It's been ages since I've seen you!"

The two dove back toward the others, and Turtle greeted them all in his quiet reserved state. "It's nice to see you all again..what's on the agenda for today?"

Moonwatcher checked the scroll she had rolled up in her claws, before pointing east of them toward the rainforest.

"I was thinking we could go check out Winter's scavenger sanctuary? I've been really busy and haven't seen it yet, I don't think anyone but Kinkajou has either."

Qibli agreed happily, slinging his wing around Winter's shoulder, and nodding.

"Hey! Get off-!" Winter protested, but made no move to shove him away.

"Aww, you love me!" Qibli said noticing that Winter didn't push him away. "What? No!?" Winter said trying to fly away from him.

Turtle laughed softly, eyeing the duo as they argued jokingly. "Are we going to go anytime soon?" Kinkajou asked with a playful eye roll, causing Qibli to move away and look toward the rainforest.

"What are we waiting for?!"

They flew off, the sound of wings flapping filling the silence for several moments. Kinkajou found herself daydreaming about the adventures of the day, and before she knew it they had arrived.

The Rainwings and Nightwings in their midst were slightly cautious around the newcomers, and Kinkajou had been expecting that.

They headed closer to the enclosed group of trees hiding the small brick walls of Winter's project.

"I guess this is it!" Qibli said happily, moving past the trees and pausing in surprise when Kinkajou caught up to him, the scales that she saw didn't quite fit into any tribe she knew.
