Ch.17:Trial

I pace around in our cell,my arms crossed,biting the inside of my cheek.Tobias is sitting down on a bench,his arms crossed over his chest.

I'm too nervous about this trial.Im going to have to tell the truth.

To everyone...

Even Christina....

What will she think of me?She's going to think of me as a murderer,and as a monster....She'll never see me as her best friend again....

"Tris,can you please stop pacing around like that?"Tobias asks.He wipes his hands on his pants,"Im already a bit nervous."

I stop pacing around,and sit down next to him,"Sorry,Im just stressed..."

He frowns.He puts his hand on top of my baby bump,"That's not good for the baby."

I sigh,"I know that,but I just feel so pressured and-and I can't take it!"

All of a sudden,I start crying.

I put my face into my hands and let out my tears,"So much has happened these past three months,and it's just too much!"

Tobias wraps his arms around me.He kisses my head,"Don't cry,Tris.Please don't cry."

"I just-I can't handle this pressure,"I say,calming down in his warm embrace.I close my eyes and try to imagine that Tobias and I are all alone in our apartment in dauntless.

Except I can't because images of Will,dead,keep popping into my head.

No matter how hard I try to get rid of them,they never go away....

Tobias wipes some of my tears away with his thumbs,"I know its hard,Tris,but you're strong.You are one of the strongest,and bravest,people I know.Even though something is hurting you,you fight it."He smiles at me,"You are my beloved Tris Prior,who is a fighter,not someone who gives up."

I smile up at him,"You mean all that?"

He nods,"I really do."

I put my hand on the back of his neck and pull his head down,making his lips touch mine.

He kisses me with so much love,and passion,making me never want to stop.

It's these type of moments in life that make me realize that everything's going to be ok.I still have Tobias,and my baby.

Nothing else truly matters,as long as I have the two most important things in my life,that I love deeply,with all my heart.

I don't need to worry,or go under so much pressure,because as long as I have my Tobias,and my baby,

Everything's ok....

"Inject Tobias with the truth serum,please?"Jack says.

We are now starting trials.Tobias volunteered to go first.

Tobias kisses my cheek and walks over to Jack.Jack motions for one of the candor to inject Tobias.

The candor nods and walks up to Tobias.He sticks the syringe into Tobias's neck.

"Please walk up onto the platform,Tobias,"Jack says.

Tobias nods and goes onto the platform,where he'll be asked questions.

"Ok,Tobias,you were a part of the abnegation attack?Correct?"Jack asks.

Tobias clenches his hands into fists,"I was,but I wasn't."

"And what do you mean by that?"Jack asks.
