Ch.18:Staying in candor

"So...the two of you want to stay here for some time,right?"Jack asks.

Tobias nods.

We're talking to Jack about letting us stay here in candor.We need somewhere to be for right now.Especially because the baby has been tiring me out.

My belly isn't getting any smaller,so I know I'm going to get even more tired.Tobias thinks that I should just rest for now,so that's exactly what we're going to do,

If Jack lets us...

"Tris needs the rest.She's...been going under some pressure and I want her to get some rest.She also gets very tired once in a while,so she needs it,"Tobias says.

Jack nods his head,slowly,"I suppose you two can stay for about a week."

Tobias nods,"Thank you,Jack."

Jack smiles,"Ill have Christina take you to an empty apartment.She knows her way around this place very well."

I smile,"Thank you so much,Jack."

He nods,"You're welcome.But I do not want any trouble.Jeanine might get on my case about it."

We nod.

"Christina is on her way now."He looks at his watch,"I have to go to a meeting."He looks at us,"You can let yourself out."

We nod.

He grabs some of his things and walks out of the office.

I lace my fingers together and set them on top of my baby bump.

I start going deep into thought...

What am I having?A boy?A girl?Twins?Triplets?

Quadruplets!?

I have no idea....

I grab Tobias's arm,"Hey?Tobias?"

He turns his head to me.

"Do you ever wonder what we're having?"I ask.

He shrugs,"Not really,but now that you mention it...Im curious..."

I smile and look down at my baby bump again,"I think its going to be a girl..."

Tobias smiles at me,"I want twins..."

I put my chin on his shoulder,"Really?"

He nods,"A boy and a girl."

I kiss his cheek.

"Ok Jack,Im here..."

Tobias and I turn our heads to the entrance of the office.Christina stands there.She keeps her eyes on Tobias,not me.

She smiles,"Hey there Four.Jack told me to take you to an apartment.Come on."

She turns around and starts walking.

I sigh,"She's acting like I'm not even here..."

Tobias kisses my head,"Its alright.She'll have to forgive you some time."

I nod.

Tobias stands up.He grabs my hand and pulls me up.

"Come on!"Christina yells.

"Let's get going,"Tobias says.

"Yeah..."I say.

He wraps his arm around my shoulders.We start following Christina's lead.

"Ok,here's where you will be staying for the time being,"Christina says.

She stops by a door.She puts a key into it and turns it.

The door opens.She walks in.

Tobias moves aside for me to go in.

I smile at him as I walk past him,entering the apartment.

Tobias enters after me.

Everything is decorated with Black and white.The living room has a long glass window,showing the entire city.

"I'll be going now,"Christina says,walking towards the door.

As she walks past me,she bumps into my shoulder,not saying a single word.

"Bye Four,"she says as she passes by him.She waves at him.

He just nods his head at her.

She walks out of the apartment and shuts the door.

It sounded like she was trying to flirt with Tobias,but she wouldn't do that...

Right?

She's my best friend...

"I guess we should just rest for right now,"Tobias says,"You need it."

I nod,"Ok..."

He walks over to me.He smirks.

I raise an eyebrow,"Why are you smirking?"

"Because I'm about to do this-!"

Right when he finishes talking,Im swept up,into his arms.

"Wha-Tobias!No!"

He laughs.

I start laughing myself.

He leans down and puts his lips on mine.

I smile and kiss back.

After a while,Im the first to pull back.I look into his eyes.

They're a light shade of blue now.

"I love you,"he says.

"I love you,too,Tobias."

He looks down at my baby bump.He smiles a little,"You want to know what else I love?"

I wrap my arms around his neck,"What?"

He nods his head towards my baby bump,"Our baby."

I start smiling even wider,tears getting into my eyes,"Tobias..."

He smiles proudly,like he doesn't feel ashamed of what he just said.

"You don't think this baby's a burden?"I ask.

He starts walking to the bedroom.

"I once heard someone say that things happen for a reason,"he says,"So this baby was made for a reason."

I put my head on his chest,listening to his heart beat.

"What do you think the reason is?"he asks.

I shrug,"Maybe to bring us closer together?"

"Well if that's the reason,"he says,"It seems to have worked."He looks down at me,

"And it still is."
