Kumi went back to his mansion with Ron.

He was given 3 days to prepare until he was going to set out to the western wastes.

It was enough time for him to plan things.

He ordered an immediate meeting and everyone in 2 hours came, they had been scattered around as Kumi had ordered to get stronger, everyone had grown up and there are also some new additions to their group their numbers could be considered an army at this point.

"I'm sure rumors have spread far and wide that I have been punished to go to the western wastes, I will take 15 of you only if you are willing."

All of them had determination in their eyes as well as loyalty, standing before Kumi they fell too their knees and said, "We are willing"

They knew their master more than the outside world knew him, he was kind unlike other nobles and has suffered more than they themselves have, there is no way that they would feel ungrateful or disloyal and even more so were the slaves that have regained their freedom although still seen as slaves it was not the same anymore because everyone treated each other as equals.

Kumi looked at them and a small smile formed on his lips, "Unfortunately I can only take 15 of you so we will do it by the most adequate to join, you will be tested by Ashrith and Ron"

Kumi had left and went to Skenobard Rugova's shop.

"It has been a long time, you've grown" Skenobard said

Kumi nodded and a few moment after Skenobard's son Orus Rugova came out. It has been a few years since he found out that the Rugova's were not humans but from a different race who look the most like humans, the specifics will be explained later on.

"I need health potions, weapons resistant to demons, armor-" Kumi listed out the things he wanted.

As he was waiting everyone was working to bring the things out and at some point Orus stepped up, he had grown to be a handsome young lad.

"I heard you were being sent to the western wastes"

"Yes, and what of it?"

Orus shook his head, "You misunderstand I was not trying to insult you I was hoping you would let me join"

"I'm sure you know what going to the western wastes means" Kumi said looking up to Orus his eyes widened.

Orus was visibly blushing, "I can be of help, I can make potions and repair armor as well as protect myself." He said shyly.

Kumi found it to be an issue, Orus if he was not mistaken which there was little chance he was had a crush on him.

Orus looked at him directly into his eyes as he was about to reject, Orus's eyes glowed in a silver light which he found weird.

"Sure" He said much to his own surprise, well it did not matter he had no intention to like him back.

Orus smiled brightly with a blush, "Thank you"

Skenobard came in and held Orus shoulder tightly, "Excuse us" He said to Kumi while dragging Orus away.

Getting far away from Kumi Skenobard reprimanded his son for what he just did.

"I'm sorry but if I didn't he would have left and we might not ever see each again" Orus argued back.

He received a slap to the face and then Skenobard said in a cold tone, "Never use it again"

"I understand" Orus said lowering his head.

They got back to Kumi who was being accompanied by Alis.

"Sorry for the delay" Skenobard said. Skenobard did something rare which was give him a discount and after he paid and took everything in a multiple storage bags. He had also told Orus at what time they were leaving.

Kumi arrived back at the mansion but they were still being tested.

Because of their large numbers it took one whole day and Orus arrived a day early.

Orus had wanted to stay close to him and even made excuses to meet him so he told him, "If you need anything during your stay ask Liala" Kumi said while introducing Liala she was a capable girl in her 20's and was just below Ethan and Ron she was also a former slave.

Most of the slaves have bought their freedoms with the money they had earned but the majority of the adults decided to keep being Kumi's "slaves".

Orus was dejected but he said with a forced smile, "Thank you"

The day of their departure came and his father as well as the duke were surprised that he was able to gather 15 people to join him. All of them wore simple black clothing but underneath they had expensive weapons and armor, they all had horses which they will be dropping of before they enter the western wastes.

The women wore hoods because they would certainly become a problem to the King and the duke's eye and make some excuse to exclude them.

They were visibly annoyed but before they could say anything Kumi said his goodbyes and left with a burden, the King gave him captain Tero of the royal guards who was commoner to look after him. Tero was a commoner had great loyalty to the king who gave him the opportunity to rise to where he is today so he would fallow his orders faithfully.

His mission is to send letters periodically but Kumi had planned to kill Tero as soon as they are deep enough in the western wastes.

Cilfilden at some point was flying above them much to Tero's surprise.

The western wastes was far and it would take them a week if don't take a single break which isn't possible since they are riding horses.

A week later Tero sent a report to the king but it was shot down, he imitated Tero's writing and wrote a whole new letter leaving out important things.

They arrived 4 days later.

They left the horses to someone else's care, before they headed in the western wastes they headed to the closest village.

The village was small and poor of resources their main source of food was through trade and the conditions weren't ideal, bugs, mold every where.

As they were walking through the village no one said anything, it was dangerous village the people who live in it even more dangerous they would do anything for some extra scrap of foods.

The villagers gave them way because not only were they a big group in their eyes their instinct told them not to go near them specifically the teen in the middle, his purple eyes glowed in the cloudy village in a dangerous glint.

Kumi and the others went to the biggest inn where there were only 3 guests since not many people come to this village and even less out of their own free will.

They were 19 in total, 15 of his own soldiers, Kumi himself, Ethan, Orus and Tero.

The inn although it was the biggest in all of the village they had to share a room with someone and only one room would be shared between 3.

Gender didn't really matter because they respected and saw each other as family but if that isn't enough, they were strong enough to protect themselves even if they weren't; there was Kumi who would punish those out of line.
