Day one / two

____

"HEY BISHOP!" AUGUST looked at the blonde boy, before moving his eyes up a tree. The probably first tree that either of them would be able to climb. Half the jungle were trees with the most slippiest wood. "Are you any good at climbing? We need to find cover, it's getting dark."

The younger boy looked up the tree August stood in front of. "I'm crap at it, but let's go, woodpecker."

August sighed and rolled his eyes at the nickname, while Bishop started climbing. He then followed Bishop up the tree, making sure that the blonde didn't fall. When they get high enough so that the leaves of the tree could cover them enough from watchers below, the two sat down on two separate branches. Leaning against the tree trunk, letting themself rest for a bit.

August thought about taking his shoes off to let his feet breath for a bit, as they felt sore from walking all day, but he discarded the idea quickly after thinking about accidentally letting his shoes fall and somebody finding them. Or in case of an emergency that would need them to move quickly. Leaning back against the trunk, the back of his head touched against it swaying from left to right.

Hearing shuffling from the branch Bishop sat on, August lifted his head from leaning against the wood, and moved it to look at the younger boy. Bishop has grapped his bag, grabbing a small pack of dried fruit. The blonde boy grabbed a fruit eating it, before looking at his companion. "You should eat something too, it is no use if we sit here and save everything for later just to die of starvation, only because we rationed too much."

August nodded understanding, before grabbing his own bag, which he had slung over a small branch, grabbing his own pack of dried food, eating a few pieces. He then took the bottle of water, taking a sip and then offers the bottle to Bishop. "Don't drink too much"

After packing their things back in their bags, the two of them stayed silent, both deep in thought. August had his head leaned against the wood looking up through the crown of the tree at the artificial sky.

It slowly started to get darker and August couldn't help but think about if the days were shorter in the arena than outside. He's never really watched the games, or if, he just saw some parts. Aunt Rouge didn't have a TV in their home and the only times her ever saw parts of the games were during lunch at school or if he went outside and walked past TV's. Not that he would look at the TV's. He just tried to avoid the whole games for the most part.

When darkness started to take over, August eyes grew heavier, but he shook awake when the Capitol's anthem started to play. Both Bishop's and August's attention got pulled up into the sky, their tired eyes suddenly wide awake.
When the first picture showed the girl from one, August gulped, remembering how her bright eyes suddenly widened and turned dull from death. He also recalled the knife that stuck in her back and the small blonde boy who didn't dare to look scared, instead he kept a stoned facade and they took off to the forest.

The next tribute that was shown was the girl from three, then her district partner. The faces passed and the closer the numbers got to seven, the more August could feel his growing heartbeat, hoping desperately for his District partner to be alive. After the face of the boy from six passed and immediately went over to the boy from eight, August let out a deep breath.

"Harlow got out" Bishop said, his eyes moved to August. The dark haired teen nodded his eyes fixed on the sky. "Yeah"

"Do you want to go look for her tomorrow?" Bishop continued to ask. August licked his dry lips looking at the boy. "We can try, but I don't know if we'll be successful, the arena is pretty big"
