After 10 minutes Eddie was getting impatient and, mostly, worried. He decided to go and check on Steve. Once he was out of the run down trailer he saw that Steve wasn't at the picnic table, where he thought Steve was headed. Eddie called out Steve's name a few times before his face fell. He had probably gone home. He's probably disgusted that I would do that, he thought. He probably never wants to see me again.
Eddie closed the door and went inside. Once in his room he put his headphones in in the hope that the music would block out the thoughts. He knew when he got like this,when something was upsetting him the intrusive thoughts came, and that never ended well. If he was straight this wouldn't happen. He wouldn't have the worry that if he kissed the wrong guy or opened up to the wrong person people would hate him, could be violent towards him, could kill him. He hated himself for it. Cleqrly the music wasn't working. He got up from his bed and walked over to his dresser, picking up a lighter and opening his drawer.
Over at Max's trailer Steve was dialling Robins number into Max's phone. He diddnt know what any of this meant, why would Robin. What was the point in even being there, he wasn't going to talk to Robin and have all of his problems float away.
Sometimes it did feel like that when Steve spoke to his friend though. She seemed to always know egsactly right thing to say and how to comfort him. It wasn't in a sappy way though, they would always keep their relationship of permanent bicker but as Steve waited for Robin to answer the phone he thought that they were solmates. Him and Robin, an unpredicted duo who had become platonic soulmates for life.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Robin"
"Hi, Steve" Robin replied, mimicking her friends tone.
