Chapter 3 : Silco's Jinx

Silco sits at his desk. He lifts up a cigar, putting it in his mouth. As he raises his lighter Sevika kicks in the door. "We have a problem." Silco looks up at her with a annoyed look on his face. "What now?" She places a Firelight mask on his desk. "Guess." Silco stands up walking to a coat rack. Picking his coat up he begins putting it on. "Inform me of what they have done now." Sevika walks over Silco, moving him to his chair, sitting him down.

"We have word that they may have Jinx. We're not sure what they've done to her but it's not good." Silco's face flicks like a switch. Calm and collected, worried and anxious. "Well then we have to get her back!" He yells standing up, hands pressed on his colorful desk. Sevika sits down in the chair in front of his desk. "Currently, we don't even know where they're at. We have to wait, Silco."

Silco sits back down in his chair staring at the ashtray seeing all the colors on it from her, he can only think of Jinx. "Jinx, what could they have done? Why did I tell that scum where she was? I overestimated her ability and now she's being... Tortured, maybe even near death." Silco begins to regain his cool, and heavy breathing. "I want everyone searching for this Hideout. No matter what, I need them found." HE gets up from his chair walking around his desk.

His hand glides across the desk's edge. As he walks to his door. He looks around facing Sevika. "Do we understand each other?" Sevika nods her head as Silco turns and exits the room.

Ekko is walking around the Firelight's tree. The tree stretches 100s of feet in the air, the leaves so green when they fall they blend in with grass glowing off the sun. As he walks around the tree kids and people of all species play or rest in a peaceful area not worried about Shimmer for Silco.

As Ekko is walking around Scar approaches him tapping his shoulder. Ekko turns around jumping with a surprised look on his face. "Scar, you scared me to death." Scar laughs, just then his tone gets very serious. His face changed to a serious expression staring into Ekko. "Come with me." He says as he walks away into a darker corner in the wall surrounding the tree. As both of them make sure no one can hear them. "So, when is she leaving?" "What do you mean?" Ekko looks at Scar with a suspicious look on his face. "I Mean when is your love partner getting the hell out of here?" Ekko looks at Scar with an offended expression on his face. "Powder is staying here, where else can she go?" "I don't care where she goes but her being here is a danger to everyone here. Silco is searching the entire undercity for her. So you get Jinx out or I will."

Scar puts his finger pushing Ekko as he walks out of the corner back into the light. Ekko looks down as he walks out of the corner staring up at his room in the tree. As Ekko climbs the stairs making his way to the room he notices a figure with a oversized jacket walking around the fields of grass below.

"Is she seriously walking around with those baggy clothes trying to blend in?" As he walks back down the stairs he walks around the figure trying to see if it was actually Powder. The figure walks to a bench and sits down. Ekko walks over and sits next to them. The figure looks over. "Hi Ekko." Powder whispers to Ekko. Ekko looks over with a grin on his face. "What are you doing walking around, your disguise isn't even that good." He whispers back. "Yeah well it's all you had in your closet that wouldn't look ridiculous on me." "Well just to warn you, this also looks ridiculous on you." "Ha-ha very funny Little Man."

Ekko stands up nodding his head for the two to moves. Powder stands up and starts to follow Ekko. When the two reach Ekko's room Powder drops all his clothes revealing her in her underwear. As she walks over putting on her real clothes Ekko walks over. "Did you really have to undress to get in my clothes?" Powder smirked, walking over to him fully clothed. "Well no, but I was just bored I guess." Ekko sat down on the side of his bed looking down, holding his hand in the other. Rubbing the palm of his hand.

Powder saw this and sat down beside him rubbing his back with her left hand. "What's wrong Little Man?" He looked over at her. "Scar wants you gone, and he said if you aren't he'll take you out no matter what." Ekko grabbed both his hands pulling them towards her. "I can leave, you don't have to worry about me." Ekko sighed. "I know, but I'm just too afraid of Silco. Scar said Silco's trying to find you and using all his materials to do it."

Powder stands up and walks over grabbing all her things. "What are you doing Po-'' He gets cut off, "I don't want to hurt you or any of your people. Just as she was walking out the door. "Boy Savior." She snatches one of the loose boards lying outside of Ekko's room. Hop on it and fly out of the sanctuary. Ekko walks out to see her fly away. As he walks back in his room laying down on his bed, stomach down. He begins to cry into his pillow.

As Powder is flying out of the sanctuary she wobbles on the board not understanding how it works. She eventually gets the hang of it as she flies into the lanes. Perching on a lamp post looking over the Last Drop. The doors open, all that can be heard is partying and chaos. Powder walks threw everyone climbing the stairs. She comes across her secret entrance into Silco's office. As she climbs in she navigates herself above his office.

Silco sits in his chair. Finger tapping on his desk. Just then Powder drops down behind him. His chair spins around immediately. He comes face to face with Powder. "Jinx, where have you been?" She slaps him across his orange eyed face. Her face turned to a red anger staring into his soul. She grabs his jaw moving it around staring into his eyes.

"You betrayed me, Silco." She pulls out a blade rubbing the dull end across his cheek. "Jinx li-" She slaps him again. "It's Powder, Jinx was who you thought I was." His face looked with a terrified stare. "I'm sorry, for telling them where you were. I thought you could handle those Firelight scum." Powder walks around his desk sweeping everything off it. "JI-" He's met by another slap.

"YOU know that Firelight leader." Powder said, pressing her hands on his desk. Silco looked at her. "Yes, what about him?" Powder looks over at his wall decorations, walking around his office. "Do you know what he did to me?" Silco's face filled with worry and regret. "I'm sorry Ji- Powder, I didn't mean fo-" He was interrupted. "He... Cared for me, loved me. HE TOOK CARE OF ME!" She yelled, flipping one of the couches in his office.

Silco's face sat puzzled. "So they weren't torturing you? They have been tricking you!" A grin formed on her face as she walked over to Silco around his desk. She bent over to his ear. Grabbing his face, moving it close. Powder whispered something into his ear. Silco's face froze in shock as Powder walked out the door. She turned towards him. "Stop looking for me, if I want to see you, I WILL." She said slamming the door behind her leaving Silco to sit in shock staring at his destroyed desk.

Powder hovered through the lanes watching people fall due to nausea or naked men running through the street. All were sadly usual things that happened in the Undercity. Just then she heard a large explosion coming towards one of Silco's Shimmer production labs. As she zoomed off to see what was happening, she was met staring at her sister and a Councilor killing Shimmer machines.

She perched herself on the top of the factory watching her sister slam these Shimmer mutations to pieces with the blue gauntlets. Steam puffing out of them as a small blue crystal shining a bright light. "The stone, she has two of them." then looking at the Councilor, with a giant hammer. As he slammed his hammer down a big blue circle formed around him. Her eyes opening in shock and curiosity she approached lower and lower, closer and closer. Eventually she was almost eye level with her sister as she destroyed these Shimmer beasts.

As she hid in the shadows the man changed his hammer into a almost gun shooting at these Shimmer monsters. As his anger clouded his mind he struck a child. The child who pressed the button. He went limp falling over the railing. Powder's instincts activated immediately running hopping on her board flying after the child who was falling at a rapid paste. Jayce and Vi surprised seeing a Firelights board flying down after the child. Just as the kid was about to hit the bottom Powder swooped in grabbing the child and landing her board. Letting the kid down as they laid there on the ground she immediately flew off into the shadows of the factory.
