Chapter 9 : The beast and the Stone

I'd like to clarify before this Chapter that I do know that Warwick is Most likely Vander in Arcane Lore but for this story I've just kinda snipped that away. My excuse is that "It's some creation that singed made." Besides that Enjoy!

Caitlyn is running surrounded by ten Enforcers arriving at main street finding people's bodies scattered around. Some hang on lamp posts while others aren't even recognizable. "Oh my god." Caitlyn stands there in complete shock as more Enforcers arrive creating a perimeter around the street. Just then Jayce arrives hammer in hand, he walks up to Caitlyn looking over face filled with terror. "Who did this?" Caitlyn looks over at Jayce. "I have no idea." She looks back and approaches one of the bodies that still was intact.

She kneels down inspecting the claw marks. Her face fills with shock, her eyes wide open. "It's- It's the same marks from Undercity." Jayce walks up behind her looking down. "The Shimmer beast marks?" He asks, looking down at Caitlyn. Caitlyn's face turns to anger when she stands up walking over to the Enforcers that followed her. "I need any civilians that witnessed what happened here in the station immediately." She points at five of the Enforcers.

Turning to the rest. "I need some photos taken along with a full recon around the surrounding area." Jayce approaches behind her. "These aren't Shimmer Beasts, are they?" Caitlyn turns around to Jayce. "No, this is something bigger, much bigger." Jayce turns facing the bridge at the end of the street. "Well, I think I know what we need to do first."

The street, a long street filled with little shops and markets. This wasn't the first disaster that happened here. During the civil war this street being connected by the bridge faced most of the damage from Zaun's attacks. As well as being the same bridge that Jinx had attacked and fought Ekko. On the bridge Enforcers crossed in march scanning the area for any signs for the beast.

Jayce leads a company of Enforcers into the Undercity hammer in hand. As they approached the lanes they located the elevator that they used for the ambush in the Shimmer factories. This elevator was much bigger than the usual one the civilians used. Fitting all Enforcers inside of it they started heading down into the streets of the Lanes.

Exiting the elevator Jayce met eyes with the Last Drop. Enforcers kick down the door to be met with a trashed and destroyed building covered in Enforcer bodies. Jayce enters as the Enforcers check all the rooms. Jayce inspects the bodies when a large explosion is set off in the office sending him and the Enforcers out of the windows. Evaporating any of the Enforcers that were in the upper stories.

Once Jayce managed to stand up he walked to his hammer, ears ringing he looked in horror as Enforcers were being attacked by the beast. A gray furry creature, eyes glowing green swooped in attacking anyone on site. As Warwick launched towards Jayce he slammed his hammer down causing a shield to be created around him. Warwick was caught being launched up as Jayce took his hammer transforming it into a launcher.

Shooting a charge of Hex energy at Warwick exploding on impact it sent him back down the streets of the Lanes. Jayce began walking back, coming eye to eye with Warwick only 40 feet separating them. Changing his hammer back Jayce prepared for attack. "COME ON!" He yelled at the beast who started standing up. Snarling at Jayce the beast began charging at Jayce leaping from above at him. Jayce reached his hammer back swinging it towards Warwick, cracking him in the jaw. Sending Warwick far behind Jayce he turned around just to be slammed into a wall.

Warwick stood on top of Jayce reaching his hand preparing to slash and kill Jayce. Jayce looked up as a golden canister landed next to them. Both looking at it a black fog began leaving the canister. Warwick saw what was happening, swinging his hand just to not hit anything. "You're going to have to try harder to kill a councilor." Warwick turned to see Jayce with his hammer smiling at him.

As Warwick charged towards him, Jayce swung his hammer up. The top of the hammer met Warwick's chest as a beam of energy shot out of it sending Warwick back crashing into the building behind it. Warwick slammed into a rogue beam of a building slamming it into his back penetrating his thick skin impaling Warwick. As the wolf-like beast tried to move it slowly ran out of energy with green and purple liquids spilling out and around the beam.

Jayce sat in horror watching it scream and move trying to get unstuck before going limp dying. Jayce closed his hammer holding it behind his arm, landing behind him a Firelight put away their glowing pink board walking up to Jayce while looking at the beast. Jayce turns quickly after hearing the person behind him. "Thanks for the assistance." Jayce says looking down at the Firelight.

Removing their mask revealing Powder, "Eh, good thing you used the opportunity. This thing is weird." She said, shrugging her shoulders. Jayce had never met Powder or Jinx prior to this only being told about her. "Well, I'm out." Powder pulls out her board hopping on it before flying away. "Well alright then." Jayce just stands there as more Enforcers arrive on the scene.

Powder hovers in the air above the Lanes kicking her feet off of her board as she sits on it. Looking over as Enforcers begin entering the Last Drop she can only think of Vander. "Why didn't I just stay away?" She says to herself before a tear flows down her face. "I wasn't ready, I'm still not ready." Her face shows a sad expression as she stands up on her board flying away.

Arriving at the walkway of Ekko's room she struts along it, placing her board next to Ekko. "Ah, so he's here." She says looking at his board. Slowly opening the door she sees Ekko at his desk looking over a picture of something. As she slowly enters and closes the door she walks to the bed without being heard. She sits down laying back hands behind her head.

Ekko's room was in the shape of a cylinder only around seven feet tall. His desk was on the left side of the room facing and pressed against the wall. His bed lay on the opposite side of the room from the door. There was a wall that cut the cylinder almost in half located next to the door which behind was his bathroom.

Ekko sat at his desk with his shoulder on the desk, holding his head as he stared at a picture in front of him. Looking over at Ekko's distressed face she quietly walks over, placing her hand on his shoulder. Ekko jumps looking over to see Powder with a worried expression on her face. "What's wrong?" Powder says looking at Ekko. Ekko places the photo down hiding it under a book standing up. "It's nothing." He says now looking down at Powder.

"I heard what's happening." He says holding her hands. He lets go, reaching his arms around her hugging her tightly, "You-you're not mad." She says looking up at Ekko as he pulls back only with his hands on her shoulders. "No, I would never be mad at something if you can't help Pow." Tears begin to form in the corners in her eyes as she stretches her arms out pulling Ekko in for a hug burying her head in his chest.

"You're going to get through this Powder, I promise." Ekko said, rubbing the back of her head. Powder let go of her grip on Ekko and as the two split apart she raised her hands wiping the tears off her face. "So." Powder looked up at Ekko who was a little confused. "You're not going to believe what happened today." Ekko looks down, "What happened?"

Jayce sits in his chair on the council looking over pictures and papers. A glass vial sits beside the papers filled with a green liquid from Warwick. A suspicious expression looms over Jayce's face until a realization hits him as he grabs the vial running out of the council's meeting room. Jayce runs to his and Viktor's workshop placing a Hex gemstone on the Anvil pouring a small amount of the green liquid onto the Gemstone.

As the liquid starts dripping down and around the Gemstone it begins entering through the crust and shell exterior of the Gemstone merging into the stone. In a matter of seconds the Gemstone was a yellowish green color extruding from the Stone. Jayce places his index finger and thumb on the Stone lifting it up to his eye. He turns walking over to his hammer removing the Gemstone currently in the hammer replacing it with the new Yellow Gemstone.

As the stone is removed the Hammers blue aura begins disappearing but whenever he places the newly created stone into the slot a yellow aura is created giving yellow energy strikes off of the hammer. "Interesting." Jayce says while rubbing his chin holding his arm with the other. Jayce reaches over grabbing the Hammer noticing the hammer had gotten even lighter than before. As he carries the hammer out of the Workshop he goes into a field just outside of Piltover.

Twisting parts of the hammer sending it into a blaster he goes to fire a blast of energy when a yellow ball of energy shoutout, once crashing onto the green grass it exploded causing a huge crater around thirty feet wide and ten feet deep. Jayce walks over inspecting the crater. "It turned to dust?" He said to himself. As he walked back over to where he was before Jayce took his hammer lifting it into the air before striking down on the ground.

Usually with Hextech it would create a blue force field but instead a wave of Yellow energy rushed out around Jayce causing anything in the proximity to be blown away. Jayce looked around surprised seeing trees that were only five feet away from him collapsed and thrown away by the blast. As he looked down at the hammer and the yellow energy soaring around, an idea popped in his head.
