5 YEARS LATER
"Mommy!" Jamie shouts from the living room. "Feya isn't giving me the TV!"
"I was here first!"
I sighed exasperated as I continued to grade papers while also making new orders for New Asgard. This was my life now. Steve and I moved into a neighborhood filled with ex-cops and military in New York thanks to Rhodes help.
So our identities and the identities of our kids are safe. Yes kids. About a year after everything that happened with Thanos, we had another kid. A boy this time. Jamie. James Samuel Rogers.
I was also human when I was pregnant with him. Human. So I will never complain about any simple pains again. It rained a lot when I was in labor with him. Tsunami type rain.
So it figures that he loves playing in the rain or basically living in the pool. Freya was a different story. She liked the pool, but she preferred playing soccer in the blistering heat and our annual bonfires during Christmas in New Asgard.
It's funny. One kid's fire, the other's water. They love each other like siblings do, but they bicker a lot as they are complete opposites. Freya is more of a wild spirit, she's very social and loves engaging in some mischief. And I know if Loki were still alive he would have reveled in that.
Jamie is more calm, he's a little wild himself but not on Freya's scale. She's my little trouble maker. Jamie was kind of more like my brother, goofy and serious all at the same time. They both inherited Steve and mine's blonde hair, and our blue eyes. Jamie's hair is a little more golden like my mother's was.
Steve and I have noticed certain things. Their body's heals like mine does or did after a cut. They're strong and fast for their age. Whenever they play with the kids from the neighborhood I always remind them they need to be careful. And they are so smart. I know they got that from their father.
Freya and Jamie love fighting around with their dad, small techniques. Although I did see Freya attempt a classic Black Widow move she must be learning from Natasha.
Another thing is that Freya hasn't developed powers. It surprised me, my brother and I recieved our powers when we turned 4. But she didn't. It could take awhile for her powers to develop due to her human side and I'm all for it. She should get to enjoy her childhood. Jamie's only 3, he could get that when he turns 4 but we still don't know.
It's been 5 years since half the population disappeared. We've called it the blip. It's been a rough 5 years. Some people have moved on, some haven't.
We've grown since.
