Wings of Fire Fanfiction: Story of Deathbringer and Glory

Chapter VI - Glory

As the day passed, Glory felt like the time was going really slowly, like a slug. 

Finally, the night came and Glory met Deathbringer at the bottom of the platform. "Hi." Deathbringer said. "Hi." Glory 'Stupid! Hi is all I can manage?' Glory thought to herself, frustrated. 

Deathbringer flashed her a grin and they begun to walk together, in the rainforest. At night,  just the two of them, wing to wing. Glory couldn't help but feel heat rising to her scales, but Deathbringer's scales were cool and kept her calm. 

"So.... you and me walking alone, in night." Deathbringer said. Glory didn't reply. "I guess we hadn't done this before." he said. Glory still didn't reply, she didn't know what to say to him. 

"Glory." Deathbringer suddenly said. Glory turned to him, looking at his eyes, they were wonderful. "Glory, I know... I know you are busy and.. I know that.. " Deathbringer stammered. Deathbringer wasn't a character to stammer. Glory raised her eyebrow at him. "Will.. you.. manage time that is just for us? For you and me?" he asked. Glory couldn't stop but turning her scales pink. Heat rose fast to her scales. "Yes, I'll always manage a time for you." she whispered. Deaethbringer looked really happy, and sort of relieved. Glory though about what Queen Coral had said yesterday, but she decided to ignore it, she was going to follow her heart. Deathbringer smiled down at her. Glory smiled back.
