Wings of Fire Fanfiction: Story of Deathbringer and Glory

Chapter VIII - Deathbringer

2 days, 3 days, 1 week, 3 weeks, and a whole months passed, Deathbringer was very happy with every moments of his life. Glory was with her, he and Glory loved each other very much, and they were planning to tell the tribe today, which made Deathbringer very nervous. He gulped as Glory lead him to the Rainforest's most highest platform, where Glory had competed against the former Rainwing queens, the Rainwings of Nightwings were gathered on the seats, waiting for their queen to arrive. Glory flashed Deathbringer a smile and entered on to the platform.

"Hello, as you all know, I called you here to make a important announcement that can alter our kingdom's fate." Glory said. Whispers spread around the dragons, Glory held out her talon and waited for the whispers to die down. "I am here today to announce our king." she said. The crowd gasped in awe. Jambu let out a happy "Woo-Hoooo finally!!" sound and Pineapple had to drag him down to the seat again. Deathbringer could see Glory smiling. 

"Your king is..." Glory started to say and Deathbringer's heart pounded like crazy. "Deathbringer of the Nightwings." Glory announced, and gasps echoed across the seats, the Nightwings seemed extra surprised at the news of that. Deathbringer emerged from his hiding spot. Glory turned to her and smile so bright, it was like looking at the sun itself. "Come here." she whispered, and Deathbringer walked up to Glory and stood next to her. Glory placed a crown made of flowers and vines on his head, he probably looked rediculous but he didn't mind. Glory leaned against him, her warmth was wonderful. 

There was utter silence from the crowd. Deathbringer tensed, will the tribes accept him? Glory must have noticed Deathbringer tensing because she whispered to his year. "I don't care if the tribes accept you as king or not, because you will be king, to me, a royal partner, I love you with all my heart Deathbringer." she whispered, Deathbringer squared her shoulders and lifted his chin how. And suddenly, the dragons errupted in cheers and applause. Glory smiled sweetly at him and Deathbringer smiled back, relieved.
