Saige's Pov-

It was roughly 7:00pm by the time I finally made it out of Ophelia's house in the pouring rain. Jansen and Kaius walked besides me starting occasional conversation but I didn't have much to say. I had too much on my mind that whenever I tried to speak my mouth would just stop mid sentence and I'd be left with nothing.

Kaius turned to me anxiously.  "Hey, you've been acting strange all night, what's going on?"

   "Nothing, I've just been thinking."

"Is the storm causing you some hormonal mood swings?

I shot a glare at Kaius and he laughed until Jansen also shot him a glare.
"Jeez, I was just joking! When did you two get so serious?"

"Did you not listen to anything I said at Ophelia's house? We're possibly in danger right now!" Jansen said, sounding more annoyed but his intentions were truly to keep us safe. Even if he sounded much of a killjoy, he was also trying to make sure we'll stay focused on the topic at hand.

"Then why are we walking alone in the middle of a storm!" Kaius yelled back, waving his hands in the air.

"Because I forgot my truck at the park. I didn't really expect us to stay at her house late. Also wasn't expecting a fucking storm!"

Kaius crossed his arms looking down at his drenched sneakers and pants. "It's totally not like one of us can control the weather.. or anything ..mhm...." he mumbled.

"I didn't make this!" I yelled at him just as a car drove past us, almost drenching us in even more water.

Jansen groaned, squeezing the water from his shirt out. "Won't you two shut up! Let's focus on getting to Saiges house before the storm gets worse or we possibly get fucking lost!"

I sighed and continued walking. After a few minutes I caught a glimpse of my house in the distance. It was quite an average size house painted gray with a small backyard that was fenced in. I told my mom we should've painted the house sky blue because every other house on the block had the same color.
I opened up the front door and Kaius and Jansen came in behind me breathing heavily.
"We Easily walked Four Miles…" Kaius groaned.

"Not to mention in the middle of a storm…" Jansen replied and took off his boots.

Suddenly I heard a set of heels click against the floor making their way towards the room. "Saige! What did I tell you about doing this!"

Crap it was my Mom.

She stood at the door frame holding a spoon and stirring what looked to be a pot of freshly cooked spaghetti with sauce.
"Sit down, maybe stay a while!" She said hurrying out of the room, angrily.

"What's her problem?" Kaius whispered looking at me.

"She's been more strict on me showing up home past 5 oclock, especially when she's in the middle of making dinner." I said and placed my sneakers beside the dryer. "and her boyfriend Pierce has been staying later for work so she's been more stressed."

My mom was roughly 5'4" and very slim.. She had long curly dark brown hair and bronzed skin.
All around the house she had Dahlia,Laelia Orchid and Sword Lily flowers in pots and even some were painted. When we went to visit her family in Barcelona, Spain to celebrate 'The Day of the Dead', we brought back a lot of things that reminded her of her family and culture.
I looked over the counter and caught a spine shivering view of the book she had right below the pictures of me when I was a kid.
Ever since I was a baby she's told me stories about a woman named 'La Llorona' and Everytime she did I'd go to bed scared out of my mind. It was so bad that she constantly came into the room with my father to make it clear that I was okay.
Even after the gentle reminder I'd still be scared.
