It was evening already. [Y/N] sighed, making her way down the hill the Kamisato estate was seated on. Ayato had told her to meet him near the water—she supposed he had something special prepared.

It had been a while since she's been out in the sun. Her skin which was so used to the darkness glowed at the touch of the setting sun. Such brightness seemed to disappear the moment she buried her father, but perhaps she could enjoy its warmth just once more. Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you—but would they?

As she neared the water she caught glimpse of Ayato, standing bashfully near a huge boat. He held his hands behind his back, looking down at his shoe. He wasn't wearing his usual suit, it seemed like he had ordered another one just for this occasion. It was much more refined than his usual clothing.

This made her feel a bit underdressed, but he wouldn't mind that, would he?

And the enormous boat on the water... it was gorgeous. From Sakura petals falling down like vines from the roof of it to the golden railings and burning candles—it glistened beautifully. The inside of the boat had a small table in the middle of it with two chairs around it. It was packed with various plates and bowls of food. The aroma was lovely.

As she walked closer, she spoke, "Ayato? What is all this?"

Ayato perked his head up, a sudden smile gracing his features at the sight of the woman, "[Y/N]! You're here," He stepped closer to her, placing his hands on her shoulders, "I was worried you weren't coming."

She chuckled, "I promised I would come, did I not?"

Ayato nodded enthusiastically, his smile becoming softer and his cheeks reddening from the delight of seeing her, "I'm glad you're here. I missed you."

Before [Y/N] could respond, he brushed her hair away from her forehead with his hand and kissed it, letting out a hum. He then took a step back, taking her hand into his and leading her to the boat, "Come now, I've prepared this just for you."

"Ah," Although she was caught off guard, she collected herself quickly, "Yes... Isn't it a bit too grand? I mean it's just dinner..."

Ayato shook his head as he helped her up the boat, "What are you saying? It's not just dinner, It's dinner with me. It should be nothing but grand."

[Y/N] sat down, "Real humble, Lord Ayato."

She watched as Ayato stepped onto the boat as well and sat down in front of her, still smiling that cheeky smile, "I'm glad you agree."

[Y/N] laughed at Ayato's words, looking to the side at the water beneath them. They were getting further and further away from land, but she knew that when the time comes the boat would steer back to the shore, therefore she wasn't worried. Instead, she was fascinated. The water in reflective blues and greens, the willing canvas of mountain and sky, brought its own artistic watercolour effect to the evening.

She smiled to herself. Ayato clearly put a lot of effort and thought into this date. She couldn't help but giggle at how cute his ideas were.

Upon hearing [Y/N]'s laughter, Ayato perked up, "Hm? Is there something in the water?"

The woman turned her head to look at the commissioner, "No, no. I was simply thinking how adorable all of this is."

Ayato picked up his chopsticks, "Adorable?"

The woman nodded, "It's quite adorable how no one else in the world is going to know of how much of a romantic you are," She said with a loose smile, burying her cheek in her palm as she supported her head.
