Hello Duhlings 😗😂
How have you all been doing? It's been a minute 🥲💙
Anyway, I wanted to update more chapters than I have, but Wattpad deleted most of my chapters 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
Anyway, enjoy your story 😗✨♠ Tobiloba ♠
The noise from his roommates woke him up. Most of the athletes were either on their phones, giving the rest of them who were warming up, gist or still in bed, sleeping.Tobiloba squinted, his eyes tried to adjust to the brightness from his phone, he had just put it on to check the time.
He took his Bible and journal from the duffel bag under his bed, and headed out of the room.
The reception was empty, he looked around for a nearby chair to settle on and meditate.Tobiloba shifted in his seat, this position felt strangely unfamiliar, a position he hadn't been in for a while.
He opened the Bible that lay on his lap, wondering what he should read that morning. Tobi sighed, and opened his journal instead.
Blank pages stared back at him. Writing down things he had learnt during his daily quiet time had helped him, especially when he didn't have anything to say to his father.
He let out a long breath,“Okay, let's talk, God." He said.
“I don't even know what I've been busy with, but I haven't had time to write down things during my quiet time, I don't know what happened."What happened between you and Chikamsi yesterday?
He wrinkled his nose, Chikamsi hadn't spoken to him since his little outburst, and to be honest he had kind of forgotten about the whole event.
Tobi had been preoccupied with finding out where Reuben had gone that night. During the search, Mr Edikan had noticed that some of them were missing, Reuben and some other boys in his class hadn't shown up to be searched.
Tobiloba knew this whole drama had something to do with Eniola's father, and wondered if he would have been one of the boys that were taken in the van yesterday if himself and Reuben hadn't had that falling out.
He shook his head to clear his thoughts, he was supposed to be meditating.
“Between Chikamsi and I," he sighed, Tobiloba knew he had messed up, he meant what he had said, but not in the way she probably thought he meant it.
“I was just upset that I was right there, available comfort, and she was looking for Chetachi. I mean, he's her best friend yes, but am I invisible?"
He had just wanted her to come to him instead of looking for someone else to talk to, everyone who spoke to him was either teasing him about the whole ‘Daddy G.O' drama that had died down, or said hi to him out of politeness when they were talking to someone beside him.
It hurt more with Chikamsi because he was starting to believe their ‘friendship', was growing, playing Whot with her on the trip to Abuja, her energy was refreshing.
He had smiled amusedly each time Chikamsi refreshed her Instagram page and saw fifty something new people following her. Her reaction was over dramatic in his opinion, she would tap him frantically and proceed to shove her phone in his face, beaming excitedly.
“Congratulations?" He had said unsure of how exactly he should react to that. Chikamsi had pretended to flip her hair that had been neatly braided and packed into a bun atop her head.
“Very soon, you'll be paying money to talk to me, Tobiloba" he had laughed, and told her that she would probably make exceptions for Chetachi and himself.
“Do you think I should apologize for my behavior towards her yesterday?" He already knew the answer he was going to receive, but Tobiloba still bit his lip, and waited for a reply.
Take a wise guess.
He chuckled, God had a sense of humor.
♠ Chikamsi ♠
Please come to the indoor basketball court, it's urgent.
Normally, Chikamsi would have called Chetachi, or waited for him to call her so he could explain what that semi-panicky text message meant, and since today was a normal day, she dialed his number.
“Just come biko, I need someone to keep me company during this game." the tiredness in his voice didn't go unnoticed by Chikamsi.
She hadn't forgotten about his moodiness during the road trip, but she didn't want to pester him, Chetachi would tell her when he was ready.
Until then, Chikamsi had been preparing to offer him comfort and her widely sought out advice.
“Ezi Enyi, " she started, she wanted to be there with him, but Tracy and Victoria had already asked that they hang out during the basketball game today.
Chikamsi wanted to spend more time with the light skinned model, she wanted to get to know Tracy better.“Ezi Enyi, I can't come now, because I already have plans but immediately after the basketball game, I will find you."
There was a long silence, before Chetachi burst out laughing, she frowned.
“What's so funny?" She asked him.“The way you said ‘I will find you'" he said, his voice going an octave lower when he repeated Chikamsi's statement.
“Are you going to hunt me down? Abeg Chikamsi, next time just say you'll meet me after the game," he chuckled.
“Get off my phone jare," Chikamsi said, smiling.
“If you like, don't meet me after the game, I will find you."
“Get out," she said laughing as she hung up.
Chikamsi's phone buzzed, a message from Chetachi came in.Ezi Enyi 💙
I don't know if I'll be near the basketball court when the game finishes, sha come and find me. ;)Authors Note
