Beside the heavy chiming clock,

DONG,

DONG,

DONG,

was I.

I sat patiently, a hand gripping the arm rest, a leg bouncing up and down. The air smelled thin and full of hand sanitizer.

I was at the hospital again.

. . .. DONG

I hate the hospital.

The floor had been scrubbed so hard I could begin to see my reflection bounce off, like a lake beginning to swallow me up, whole, and entirely. My soul was being devoured. I was looking into a mirror that seemed to say, 'don't look away, please don't look away.'

DONG . . ..

Soon the three handed clock had become too dizzy and begun spinning backwards.

. . . . Dong . . . .

Two knocks heard on the door, and the knob was turning. I close my eyes, is that the boogeyman? No, it's just the doctor. I sink further into my chair, it was eating me. The floor had turned into lava. lol no. I was sinking into the floor, like submerging into ice cold pool water. I could have been submerged for years, minutes, or seconds.
Time became irrelevant as when peace occupies the mind. At some point, peace eroded, and time knew me once more.
I had risen out of a body of water in the middle of a forest like a muse, kissed by the gods. This forest had sprouted from the roots buried in my hair. It gave birth to masses of greens that covered the sun and drowned the skies. The once body of water that held me dearly turned into acid, consuming its surroundings mercilessly. Lol lava. This wonder forest moved without a beating heart, yet still alive. This muse ran from her Athena, deeper into wonderland. Running atop greens, a vine grew its way to my ankle, dragging me back and up into the air. Wondrous creatures with their large eyes lay above the trees. Wondrous yet monstrous massive monkey flies. They grew hands, greedily reaching for me with their hairy monkey arms, for a muse to bless them.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHH

My screams filled the air, the trees fell back for a moment only to echo my screams back louder.
