When Spanish class finished we were talking in my locker
"Hi, Levi. Hi Bruno" Peter said while approaching us
"Hi Peter"
"What are we talking about?"
"About the Spanish teacher, he doesn't really know how to talk"
"Or write," Bruno said
"Yes" I laughed
We started walking to our next classes
"Do you watch like does kinda novela movies made in Latin America?" Bruno asked
"Yes, my mamá my mom always watched them while cleaning the house"
"Yes my mamá it's the same" we both laugh
"I also watch Latin movies too," Peter said putting his head between us
"Hey, do you wanna watch some today?"
"I would love to, I really need to practice more my Spanish"
"What? But you speak so well Spanish" Peter said putting his head between us again
"Need to practice more, I just speak it with my mamá"
"Hey, if you want we can talk in Spanish so you can practice"
I smile and nod "Eso seria genial (that would be great)"
"Genial nos vemos despues (Great see you later)" he said while entering our class
I smile to myself it was great being friends with another Latino
We present our project and got an A
After English, we each took our own classes, until lunch
"Hola, Bruno ¿quieres comer conmigo y mis amigos? (Hey, Bruno wanna sit with me and my friends?)"
"Si ¿porque no? (Yes, why not?)"
We got our food and headed to the table where Peter and Ned were
"Hey man" Bruno salutes Ned and Peter
While we seat Peter gave me a look and I answer with another look
"So... you are going to watch movies?" Peter ask
"Yeah, if you want you can come. Just a little thing the movies are only in Spanish and I not all of them have subtitles"
"It's okay I know how to speak Spanish"
"Then why do I keep tutoring you?"
"Because we are best friends and you love me"
"Yeah kinda hating you right now"
We chat about random things rest of lunch while Peter keed giving me looks
After leaving the cafeteria Peter drag me to a side
"Hey what with you?" Peter said kinda piss out
"I don't understand"
"With Bruno why are you with him all the time"
"Okay if I didn't know you or this was about any other person I would tell you that you are jealous"
"I am"
I stared at him trying to find the appropriate words
"Hey not because I have been hanging out with Bruno doesn't mean I would stop being your best friend" he still seemed really mad "Look it's nice being around another Latino, I love you and Ned but let's be honest I am the brown one in this white group and with Bruno, I feel like I belong"
"You belong in our little group, and we have never treated you like you are an outsider"
"I know but I still feel like one sometimes. Look Bruno understands me in a way you would never" Peter didn't like that cause he started walking and I had to chase him "Wait, I am sorry but it is that way and no one ever would be able to change that. Is just like a girl, a girl is able to understand me in a way you can't. And the other way around you understand me in a way no one else can, okay?" He nodded finally calming down
What was with him? Ever since I started hanging with Bruno he acted different, possessive, and not like him

I know the way I am treating Levi isn't fair but I can't control it. I hate that she is so much time with Bruno, she used to be impatient to see me not him
What if she likes him? But May said that she liked me, maybe she was wrong
After school ended I saw how Levi and Bruno lived at the end I told them that I couldn't come. I went straight to my apartment
When I enter I slam the door
"What happened? Why are you so angry?"
"Remember when you told me that I like Levi and that she liked me and stuff?" she nod "Well you got me thinking and I think I like her but seems like she doesn't like me. Apparently, she likes this guy from her English class Bruno"
"She told you that?"
"No"
"Oh Peter you are feeling jealous and insecure, you feel that he is going to make a move and ask her out"
"Well he kinda already did and she said she they are watching movies right now"
"Have you talked to her?"
"Yes"
"And what did she say"
"That Bruno understands her in a way I can't"
"Understand her Peter, she is a Latin girl who has been leaving her whole life in New York"
"But I have always treated her like she belongs here"
"Yes but she also wants to feel like it's okay being Latina"
"I haven't thought of it like that"
"Tell her that and everything would be like it was in the past"
"I don't want that, she would still feel like an outsider"
"You learn really fast Peter and one last detail she would never stop feeling like that, but know you can be by her side when she feels like that"
