Vanilla ice cream

Richie's POV:
I decided to go over to Eddie's and talk to him. It's been a couple days since what happened and we haven't talked since. At school we'd just ignore each other. He didn't even write down notes for me. I was gonna tell him I like him he's gonna find out so I'd rather tell him myself. I started walking over to his house.

Eddie's POV:
Ever since what Bev said I really had time to think about wether or not I liked Richie. I didn't even know if Richie liked me! Ughhh this is so confusing! I heard someone knock on my door so I went down to see who it was. I looked through my window. Fuck! It's Richie! I walked over to the door and stared at him.

Eddie: "uh hey Richie"

Richie: "hey Ed's"

We both just stared at each other.

Richie: "not gonna yell at me for calling you Ed's? That's a first"

Eddie: "shut up Richie"

Richie: "there's my Ed's! Uhm can you come out?"

Eddie: "uh yeah..Mom!! Im gonna go outside!"

Eddie's mom: "okay Eddie bear"

I stepped outside and the silence was killing me. What did Richie even want?

Richie: "About what happened.."

Eddie: "look Richie it's fine! I don't care if you're gay it's not gonna affect our friendship!"

Richie: "No! I..I uh.."

Eddie: "you what?"

Richie: *sighs* "you wanna go get ice cream then I can tell you? I'll pay"

Eddie: "yeah sure"

We walked over to an ice cream stand and ordered what we always got. Two vanilla ice creams. I don't know when we started getting ice cream together but it was a nice thing to do. We would usually argue over who pays but surprisingly Richie payed without any fuse. We also refused to get anything other than vanilla the main reason being it's the cheapest flavor but also it's just the flavor we like most. It's basic but who cares? The ice cream person handed us both the ice cream then Richie payed him. We both walked to a private area were nobody really went. We sat on a bench eating out ice cream. It was quiet but a nice silence. It wasn't awkward or anything we both just sat there. Richie finished his ice cream but I was still eating mine.

Richie: "so how are you doing today Ed's?"

Eddie: "since when did Richie ask about peoples days?"

Richie: "since right now! So how was your day?"

I smiled at him

Eddie: "it was really good, then you came"

Richie: "how rude"

I laughed. Things finally felt normal. I saw Richie smile he always looked like a dork but looked like an even bigger one when he was all happy. He reminded me of a really dumb dog. Not in a mean way though if that makes sense.

Eddie: "don't smile like that!"

Richie: "why? This is my normal smile!"

Eddie: "you look like a dog!"

Richie: "rude much? You saying I don't have a nice smile?"

Eddie: "you're smile is fine. I mean you look like a dog after being taken out for a walk!"

Richie: "thanks?"

Eddie: "it's not an insult I promise"

Richie: "that's a first"

Eddie: "what is?"

Richie: "you not insulting me"

Eddie: "shut up! Im being nice for once!

I finally finished my ice cream and me and Richie were silent again.

Richie: "oh uh you have something on your cheek"

Eddie: "hm?"

I wiped my cheek but apparently didn't get it because Richie said

Richie: "Here I got it"

Eddie: "uh okay"

His face got closer to mine as he put his hand on my cheek and wiped it off but even after he got it he didn't movie away. I felt weird and tingly.

Eddie: "d-did you get it?"

Richie: "Eddie can I tell you something?"

He was still really close. So close I could feel his breath and his hand was still on my cheek.

Eddie: "uh y-yeah.."

Richie: "Eddie I..I..I really like you Eddie."

Eddie: "Wha-"

I got cut off by Richie's lips pressing against mine. I didn't know if i wanted to kiss back. I didn't push away but I didn't return the kiss. I just sat there. After he pulled away I just sat there in shock. Richie looked like he regretted doing that and I didn't know what to feel.

Richie: "Uh Eddie?"

I continued to just sit there

Richie: "Eddie I-"

Eddie: "I gotta go."

Richie: "W-wait!"

He grabbed my arm but I pulled away

Eddie: "don't touch me"

Richie: "E-Eddie I'm sorry I-"

More people started to crowd around us. I didn't know what to say or do so.

Richie: "I'm sorry I just wanted to- I thought-"

Eddie: "No Richie! I'm not a faggot okay! It's just you! Your the only weird gay guy in this town!"

I pushed people out of the way and ran off.

Richies POV:
All eyes were on me. Everyone was staring at me and there was even some laughter. I just kissed Eddie and he called me a fag in front of a shit load of people. I could hear people whispering about me. Saying how the rumors really were true. I turned to look for anything of anyone to defend me. I saw Billy, Stan, Bev, Mike, and Ben. Of course they were here. They just stared at me and walked off. Everyone knew. Fucking everyone knew.
