Hope's POV:

"You're a patient, aren't you? Then why did you run away from the hospital?"

Lacey asks me after Bucky and Acey's help me take the cast off. Of course, they initially refused to help me, but luckily they relented after much persuasion. Apparently I'm really quite annoying.

With surprise, I moved my now free limbs: ''Wow, this is amazing. Until yesterday I had a broken leg, a broken arm and a broken elbow, and now they are completely healed."

"Hey!" I looked at Bucky who called me back. "Oh yeah! They asked me.'

I just have to come up with some reason. Hardly, just Bucky and Acey's will believe me if I tell them the truth. If they believe me, at the very least, they should be scared and run away like babies.

"I don't have money to pay the hospital bills." I replied, well, it's not a lie after all.

"You have no money? What about your parents? Why don't they pay? And what happened to you?" Tracey asks suspiciously.

"Oh no. Apparently I need to come up with a more plausible reason. Well, it's time for my acting skills to shine.''

I bit my lip and looked down sadly, "Actually, I... My memories are blurry. All I know is that I had an accident that almost killed me. The doctor said that due to the heavy blow to my head during the accident, the cause of my memory loss. At first I wasn't too worried because I thought my family or a guardian would visit me and help me, but... No one came. The doctor started to worry me and... I wasn't thinking straight, the only solution I could think of was to escape the hospital."

I explained with a sad expression. I made sure to put emotions into my words to make them sound more believable and thankfully it worked.

I sighed before continuing, "I don't know who my family is, if I even have one. I mean, what family or guardian wouldn't even visit me after I almost died? Anyway, I have no one to go to and I have no money on me, so I must be living on the street now."

"Are you even from here?" Bucky asks.

I look at him sadly.

"I don't know. All I remember is my name and age."

He looks to Acey's and back to me, then sighs.

"Then I guess I'll have to take you to my aunt who's the mayor."

I look at him confused, but inside I'm excited. If they take me to the mayor, I'll see Addison too. Oh, this is so exciting!

"The mayor? Are you sure she will help me?"

"Of course she'll help you. She's my aunt, I know her much better." he sneers at me.

Okay, here comes arrogant Bucky again.

"Okay, sorry. Well, let's go to her."

Me, Bucky, and Acey's heading to Addison's house, where her mom is actually right now. Okay, this is definitely going to be exciting.

--------------------------

We were at Addison's house and Bucky was explaining my situation to the mayor. Addison was out with Zed which upset me a bit because I didn't get to see her but maybe I will later.

"So she doesn't know if she even has a family. Aunt Missy, what are we going to do?" Bucky asks after explaining the situation.

The mayor looked at me, then she looked at her husband.

"Excuse us for a moment." she said and left the room with her husband.

To be honest, I was worried. I know there's no way anyone can find anything about my family here, but I'm still worried. What will she decide? What if she sends me to an orphanage? I certainly don't want to go to an orphanage. I looked at Bucky and Acey's worriedly.

"What will she decide? She won't send me to an orphanage, will she?"

"Why are you asking me? Nothing like this has ever happened in Seabrook before, I'm worried too. Just great, first zombies are allowed in Seabrook, and now some unknown girl who doesn't even know anything about herself comes here. What happened to my perfect city?"

I look at Bucky slightly offended. Honestly, I don't really expect anything else from him, but it's still insulting.

"Well, that was a little rough." I say and he just rolls his eyes.

At that moment, Addison's parents re-enter the room.

"Well, Dale and I have decided what we're going to do. Hope, since you don't remember if you have a family and you don't have a place to stay, we figured you could stay here."

I look at Missy, surprised. Is she really going to let a stranger in her house? Well, never mind, that's fine with me.

"Really?!" me, Bucky and Acey's ask at the same time.

"Oh, thank you so much. I really, really appreciate that." I say excitedly.

"Aunt Missy, Uncle Dale, are you serious? You're going to let an outsider live with you? You don't even know her!" Bucky says in disbelief.

Right now I feel like punching Bucky and he'll just shut up. To be honest, I never liked him, and now that doesn't make it any better.

"Bucky, don't talk like that. She needs help and we need to help her." Missy says to Bucky.

I look at them with a smile. Addison's parents are really nice. Missy looks at me again with a reassuring smile.

"Well Hope, we'll do our best to find out anything about your family or your guardian."

"Thank you." I say, with a smile, even though I know they won't find anything.

"Well, I'll get the guest room ready. Bucky, Lacey, Stacey, Tracеy, it's good to be home, your parents will be worried." says Missy.

"Okay, bye Aunt Missy, bye Uncle Dale."Bucky says and he and Acey's leave.
