10 : The missing piece

(Eddie pov)

I need to tell her tonight if she comes.

I needed to go to the wheelers for a hellfire meeting.

I changed my shirt to my hellfire shirt.

I went to the car and tried to unlock the door but it was locked.

Crap I left the keys in the house.

I walked back inside and saw the VHS of the nightmare on elm street was on the table.

Why does everything I see remind me of her?

I need to tell her. Soon.

I unlocked the car and started it and pulled out.

I pulled into the wheelers and knocked on the door.

Noah opened it.

"Oh hey, Eddie. Are you here for Hope? Cause if so, she's not here. She's at Robins house." Noah said

"Actually I'm here to set up d&d for the meeting." I said

"Oh ok." Noah said letting me in the house.

We went inside and started setting up d&d

The meeting was over and Hope was still at gone, hopefully at Robins

I grabbed the phone off if the wall and asked Nancy for Robins number then dialed it.

"Hello?" Robin asked

"Hey, is Hope still there?" I asked

"This isn't Nancy, who is this?" Robin asked

"It's Eddie, can I talk to Hope please?" I asked starting to get kinda annoyed.

"Yeah sure hold on." Robin said and yelled for Hope.

"Hey Eddie, what'd you need?" She asked

Go her voice was even pretty over the phone.

"I was just wondering if you were staying there or coming to my house, if your coming with me, I'll give you a ride." I said.

"Umm I don't know yet, give me a minute." She said

God, maybe this was more than a crush... maybe I was in love. No I can't be. No I- this is happening way to fast. I can't be in love with her, she'd never love me anyways even if I did... which I wasn't obviously.

"Uh I think I'm gonna stay at Robins but can you go with to my house with Noah so that he can get more clothes?" She asked

She knows I wouldn't let anything happen to him. He's important to her and she important to me... wait did I really just think that? Anyways I'll protect him.

"Yeah of course, if you need anything just call my house." I said

"I don't have the number written down." She said

Duh of course she didn't.

"Oh right, the number is 687 - 0975." I said

"Ok I wrote it down. Thanks Eds." She said

I got butterflies when she called me that... honestly if anyone else called me that, I'd probably mock them or hit them or just mess with them.

"Noah come on. I'm driving you home." I said

We both knew that was just the code for 'your going to my house again'.

"Ok coming Eddie." Noah yelled and said goodbye to his friends.

We got in the car and I looked at him and he looked like me when I first saw Hope.

"You like the Mayfield kid don't you?" I asked

I just felt like an older brother to him at this point.

"I have no chance, her brother would kill me if I stepped close to her and Lucas likes her. He's friends with Jason Carver and Jason would make even more of a school outcast." He said

"Hey, being an outcast isn't that bad... I mean look at me, I turned out just fine." I said jokingly trying to cheer him up.

"Yeah right." He said while laughing.

"So Hopes not coming tonight?" He asked

"Nah I don- "

"Has anything happens between you two?" He cut me off

"Woah... hold up, what happened to you threatening me because you didn't want her to get hurt?" I asked

"I've seen how she is around you, she feels safe... and happy. She hasn't been happy in a long time and you make her happy. I don't know what she sees in you but I could care less now. You care for her as much as I do. If not more. I know you won't hurt her. Not on purpose at least and if you hurt her at all, I know you'd do anything in your power to make up for it." He said

He wasn't wrong. I'd do anything to make it up to her if I hurt her in any way.

(Hopes pov)

"Hey can I have some clothes for pjs?" I asked Robin

"Yeah sure, I'll give you pig print pants and a chicken shirt so we can call you a chig." Robin said while laughing.

"You kinda act like a crackhead sometimes... crazy." I said

"Yeah so what?" Robin said wheezing at this point from laughing so much.

We went to her room and she set up a bed on the floor.

"What are you doing Rob?" I asked as she laid down on the floor/bed she made.

"I'm sleeping down here, and don't think it's because your here, I sleep on the floor all the time." Robin said

"Oh okay. Goodnight Robin, I had fun today."

Robin fell asleep and I tried to but I couldn't.

Something was missing but I couldn't think of what it was... Eddie!

That's why I can't sleep, Eddie wasn't here and I couldn't sleep beside him... more like half way on him but still.

I got up and grabbed the phone. I dialed his number.

"Eddie?" I said

"No this is Noah wait- Hope?" He said

"Yeah this is Hope, where's Eddie?" I asked

Maybe I didn't need to sleep in the same bed, maybe his voice would be enough.

I grabbed the phone and laid on the bed.

"Hello?" Eddie asked

"Hey Ed's, I- I can't sleep because your not here with me and I thought maybe your voice would help me sleep but if your too busy it's fine." I said about to put the phone back and then...

" no wait- I'll talk to you, I'll talk. If that's what you need I'll do it." Eddie said

"Ok thanks. How was your day?" I asked

"It was fine, kinda boring tho. There was a person that I missed all day and wanted to see but, said person but be kept confidential." He said

I knew he was talking about me but I acted like it was nothing.

I was starting feel tired.

I felt my eyes start to fall and said two more words before dropping the phone.

"Goodnight Ed's."  I said
